Posted April 20, 200420 yr I am thinking of trying Addidas golf shoes. Any comments. Footjoys are just getting too expensive. They have always been my favorites but cannot afford $150. Made the mistake of going to Nike last year :x Plus any discount retailers on line ?
April 20, 200420 yr Adidas make some great shoe's . I just have to be carefull on what model I buy as they don't make a W shoe . For me at least there shoes are to narrow :(
April 20, 200420 yr I have never tried Addidas, but have to agree Footjoys are one of the best. I have 5 pairs, 2 DryJoys, and 3 DriIce. I rotate 2 pairs. I got lucky and found the DriIce(pre-gelfusion) at a local course for only $69.95, so I bought 3 pairs. Maybe you can find a deal locally.

You lucky so and so  I wish I could find some of them still . Would they happen to have anymore in lets say a size 11.5 W ?? If so go buy them for me please , I know it sounds like I am begging and you are right I am . I have no shame

I am sure they're all gone though, it was a clearance sale last fall. Funny thing is it seems my size 9 is the most common and harder to find, but the course Windmill Lakes (Ben Curtis' college home course) had quite a few in 9. I bought them as fast as I could!
April 20, 200420 yr Adidas does have "W" sizes and any of their "Z" series shoes are awesome comfortable! One day I forgot socks and wore a new pair for 18 holes -- no probs!!
April 20, 200420 yr I have recently picked up off ebay for $70US the Z Traxion Stripe, they are just like Appelby, Daly et al use! Amazingly I was sent 11.5W when I ordered an 11W and they are perfect. I have read they are 1/2 size small and luckily this is exactly correct for me :) These are easily the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, I have never tried Footjoy classics though. They did give me blisters at the start as most shoes do but now I am sure like above I could go without socks with zero blisters! You would not be disappointed if you bought a pair of these Z traxions...trust me :)

I have never seen the "W" size . As for the "Z" series I did buy a pair and they ended up in the garbage after one season . I have 5 pairs that I rotate so it wasn't from wearing them too often . The toe just blew out as if they were to small a shoe .
April 20, 200420 yr I have both and the and the Footjoys (i have the gel fusion) are much better in my opinion.
April 20, 200420 yr I've used both adidas and footjoy. Both a great walking shoe. Just picked up some gel fusions at tgw.com for 99.50 with ground shipping. Takes about a week. Most comfortable golf shoes ever. Can't beat that.
April 20, 200420 yr i know this is slightly OT, but have you guys thought about ecco's? Ari put me on to these and I can honestly say I have not found a finer golf shoe. Extremely comfortable from the 1st day, which included about 36 holes of bandon, OR. They are wider than most shoes and roomier in the toe area than any other shoe I've tried. Probably like you Mike I have a wider high arching foot, and I have had a lot of trouble finding a really comfortable shoe. Give them a try, I don't think you'll be dissappointed.
April 20, 200420 yr here you gohttp://www.ecco.com :D Gee I must be having a bad day . I could have just gone to google and found that
April 20, 200420 yr the simple things tend to be most illusive...there are days i'm glad breathing is automatic or i might forget how

April 21, 200420 yr Man do they fit narroe. just got back from Golfsmith - no W sizes to try. Which one's AK , the Adidas or the Ecco's ????
April 21, 200420 yr Author The ones in the title of the thread :D Addidas - normally take a11 W or a 11.5D depends on the shoe.
April 21, 200420 yr Yes of course it would be them . Dohhhhh!!!!!!!!! BTW: Told you the fit tight didn't I

April 21, 200420 yr I have a pair of Adidas Saddle Tournament golf shoes. Nice brown faux croc saddle on brown split toe saddle. Had them for over a year and they're the most comfortable shoes I own at the moment. Can't say enough about them.
April 22, 200420 yr Author Actually these are not to bad - I had to step up to a size 12 D from a 11.5. i did try some W's but toe area was a problem.
April 22, 200420 yr Ecco's are nice, well at least their casual shoes are. Never owned a pair of their golf shoes. I prefer Footjoy though, they fit the contour of my foot the best. Dry Joys it is for me. Til I splurge for some Classics of course...lol :D Robbie
