Posted April 20, 200420 yr I know this is the non American name plate for Sonartec, but there seem to be quite a few with the sole plate Super S.S. Pro. I have hit the SS-03, and I really like it. Seems someone is selling these on Ebay without a shaft for a reasonable price. Any thoughts on this club. I appreciate any input
April 20, 200420 yr i have both and i like the super ss pro better. less muted feel and square set up. very solid club. if you are a good player put a heavyweight graphite in it and you'll love it! andy
April 20, 200420 yr I noticed many going around these days as well as Super CV S.S pros Tour model. I picked up a Tour model 14* 3 wood and have yet to shaft it yet, I'm thinking Aldila? I think mine came from the Tour rep in Canada. :?
April 21, 200420 yr I have an SS Pro. And I can flat out TORCH balls with it. Its on a X300 steel tipped to length. And Good God does this thing fly! I'm thinking about slapping my recently broken D03 XX on it... :D That could be fun! S.T.F.S
April 21, 200420 yr I still have a few on 13,16,19 and 20 on SS PRO Heads. Let me know if any of you need one. THX! JOe [email protected]
April 26, 200420 yr I picked up a 15* and 19* from JK and had them shafted with Fuji Vista Tour Series 70 S flex, a very smooth shaft (I demo'd an X flex and it felt good, even though my ss is only ~95mph with the driver). Heads are "Tour" weight so finished club swingweights at ~D6. Very solid, very square, look great at address. If you have a strong swing, they really go and have no draw bias. Not very forgiving though. Jeff
April 27, 200420 yr I bought the S.S. Pro in 15 and 19 degree from Joe. I've shafted both with Nippon Steel 950 S. They sit square at address and have to be the best looking fairway woods to date. I played them next to my 975F and the 975F pales in comparison. The Royal Collections have firstly incredible feel and are solid to hit. To myself they're extremely forgiving. My only gripe is that both fairways had chips in the paint which may have come from shipping.
May 5, 200420 yr Are these true fairway wood heads or are they more of a hybrid? They looked kinda small in the pictures. Thanks!
May 5, 200420 yr True fairway heads and very good looking; paint is better than the Sonartecs. Strangely, my 15* says "4+" on the sole but it is as large as a Sonartec 3 wood. Jeff
May 6, 200420 yr Thanks for the info. I just picked a couple up, so now to pick a shaft:) Thanks agian.
