  1. US Version is conforming. I have the 8.5 degrees. My thoughts are that it is incredibly solid, good length. It feels solid and has a dull sound at impact like old 975D. Forgiveness is about a 7, taking into account a TM 580 is a 10. Best advice is to demo it. If you have a good swing, go for it.
  2. i wouldn't worry about it too much, once you try RC you'll never go back.
  3. The driver was yen 92,000 so around USD$900, the fairway was yen 51,000 approx. $500. I`m sure that Chris could source for cheaper. For both clubs i choose the GD AD-75 stiff (silver with orange stripes). The shafts themselves are quite expensive if bought separately, i think yen 35,000.
  4. No reviews on the x-drive 405 so i purchased the 2005 RC driver. also got the fairway and the utility. Beautiful looking clubs. Driver has adjustable weights although they're only 1, 2 and 4 grams. Will post a review when i get back home in 2 weeks.
  5. Ok, can someone review the new Tourstage 405 x-drive either conforming or non-conforming?? I`m sure that someone must have bought this puppy by now...
  6. Has anyone had a chance to hit the new X-Drive 340 or 405. I'm after the 405 however any feedback would be appreciated. There are two x-drive 405s. * X-Drive 405 * X-Drive 405 HR I assume the HR is the hi-Cor model. Does anyone know the set-up of each, being internal weighting and if the faces are neutral? I'd prefer the conforming model, however not if it means the club has a 'right' bias. The x-drive 390 pro-spec not only was 1 degree open however also had 'right' bias internal weighting.
  7. Chris, I was looking at the x-drive 405 today and spoke with the rep from Tourstage. There may have been some communication issues ie. English/Japanese, however according to the rep the 405 is face neutral but has fade internal weighting. Do you know if this is correct?
  8. these puppies are coming out in mid-Jan 05 in Japan. I was in Victoria Golf today (yes I know they're expensive). The x-blade CBs also felt so damn nice. I'd like to get some with NS950s. They have everthing in Japan. I don't know how people can use American stuff after playing with Japanese equipment.
  9. I can;t believe I'm saying this, howver I agree with you on the TM 580XD with the stock shaft. I just came back from custom golf shop and they said the stock shaft was actually pretty good. It CPMed at 257 and was spined. Does anyone know what the shaft is used and the torque for the stock MAS 65 stiff shaft?
  10. I have a 390 x-drive 9 degree w/ GD Blue 6.5y Stiff. It is the pro-spec model. Condition 9/10.
  11. I have to say that Norman's game was not over-rated, note the past tense. He dominated golf for nearly a decade and continues to do well in business - how many pros havbe made the transition as successfully as Norman. Some of the shot's I've seen him pull off defy belief, such as a 300 yard drive with a slight draw a long the curvature of trees or a 3 wood landing just over a bunker with the pin just past he buncker - you get the drift.
  12. I own a set of TM CBs from Miura. I'm currently on holidays in Malaysia and saw a set of TM CBs with the CB on the hosel, however they had a serial number sticker on them (which could be removed). The number on the serial was in the 800,000's. I don;t think they've made 800,000 TM CB sets however this could be the total number of irons produced. Saw the set at Isetan at KLCC (Petrona Towers) so they're reputable.
  13. I bought the S.S. Pro in 15 and 19 degree from Joe. I've shafted both with Nippon Steel 950 S. They sit square at address and have to be the best looking fairway woods to date. I played them next to my 975F and the 975F pales in comparison. The Royal Collections have firstly incredible feel and are solid to hit. To myself they're extremely forgiving. My only gripe is that both fairways had chips in the paint which may have come from shipping.
  14. Steel shaft = greater control. Therefore swtich to graphite and you may lose some accuracy. Graphite shaft = greater distance. I gained approx. 15 yards on my drive switching from DGS300 to Aldila NV75S. Graphite is easier to swing and has a softer feel than steel. It's a personal preference based on the strengths and weaknesses of your game.
