+TourSpecGolfer
The new 420 RF is a new non conforming driver in Japan. I recently hit it with a Fujikura SKW and was majorly impressed. This Driver is as long as my R7 and definitely more forgiving. The 9* is .5 closed but other than that this Driver is my new #1 Choice! This is the first Honma club I really liked. xxio
Despite what people say Honma drivers are really really good. The different versions of the RF drivers are terrific. The stock doric-titanium shafts are not too shaby. Played a Honma Big LB titan bought from a JPGA tour player (Minoza-Filipino). It was way so much better than the D I had then. Wish I had the $$$ to play the RFs. They cost as much as a set of X16s. Chris, Was the Fuji an option or aftermarket? I cannot get shaft options on the ones available locally. +TourSpecGolfer
The Fuji is aftermarket and the 420RF is probobly my favorite driver now. I will probobly reshaft the R7 and give it to Tourspecgirl and pick up a 10* 420RF and have JK set it to .5 open face. I have yet to try it in a stock shaft. MGB
I always liked their driver heads and the feel and feedback they give. As I got better, the shafts seemed less and leass fitted for me though. The shafts are so unique and expensive, it's a shame to have to reshaft. Honma's got a couple of products for the good player in 04. They have a 350cc driver, the Tour World 350 that comes with the TD-975 Tour Doric shaft and the Tour Athlete-925 blade with TT's Dynamic Gold shaft. Chris, let me know how these are when you run into them.

He had different sticks though when he was in Del Monte to watch the PAL tournament. I prefer the Tour World CBs though the ones with the blackened out cavities. The shafts are ok as long as you go a flex higher. Looks like Honma is getting back on track after the recievership thing screwed up their designs for a while. primo
One of my buddies just picked up this driver and swears it's the most incredible driver ever. We've always teased him about using illegal drivers, I'm assuming that this driver is non-conforming as well Chris? I dont' think it really matters anyway, this guy has been playing Honma so long that he's adapted his swing to that whippy shaft. Now he can only play whippy shafts, yet he knocks the crap out of the ball. Puts a lot of spin on the ball, but still gets it way out there, he's still one of the longest hitters I know. part of that has to be cause his driver is illegal.
