HipCheck
Anyone want to do a full review on these? What shaft do you have etc? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
+TourSpecGolfer
Because no one is stepping up here is my take on these irons when comparing them to the X-Blade CB's and MR23's. The Gauge Design Japan Cavity Backs in Satin look just stunning. It is definitely a players CB but with many aspects that make it much more forgiving than XCB's and leagues more than MR23s. The sole is slightly rounded and heel to toe it is longer than the MR23s. When talking feel these are second to none, I used to really love the soft copper feel of the MR23 CB's but it seems the himeji forging feels very similar to a miura forging except softer because the cavity is deeper when compared to the CB1005 straight necks. The design is progressive and the lofts play a little strong so you will need to go a club down. Problem is that they are often sold out as many GD Japan products are. +TourSpecGolfer
Most Iron heads have hand ground edges, for example if you take 10 sets of say XCBs or Titty irons there will be very small differences between them because they are mass produced thousands at a time. At Gauge Japan they only have 1 person grinding the heads an older man by the name of Yasuhiko or something like that and that is why only 130-150 sets of heads max can be done in a months time. There is currently a back order of 300+ sets ( two months worth or more ) but the back order keeps growing. GD uses the best people to do this and does not believe in having a bunch of different hands and techniques touch their product.
