aflac
Brand newbie here. Can anyone tell me more about this driver? Pics below. Tour Spec J340, dark metallic blue/black head. Mated to a Fuji FitOn 11 Pro95 shaft. Friend gave it to me, someone actually gave it to him as partial payment for money owed. I've had some people says good stuff about it, but I've found very little info. Any info is appreciated (origins, ca., rarity, value, etc.) Oh yeah, one other thing, I'm left handed, and it's a right handed driver, so I can't even enjoy it. :wah:

lightrider
I still remember the J340 vs TM 300 Tour debates. It went even down to the Ball. Hogan vs Pro V1x. :money: Like the 300 Tour the J340 will probably go down as one of the best drivers made. Anyone know the head size??
bruinduke
A search would reveal a few more details than I could share, but I believe it's Tourstage prototype circa 2001. Never made it into production as TS went with the Xdrive shape instead. Allegedly the inspiration for early Nike drivers and the Ignite as well. Favored for it's feel and workability. If you're thinking about selling send me a PM. I live in So Cal also.

aflac
Hard to tell from your pics, but is your head a blue/black metallic? Thanks for the link and pics! Good information. :surprize: Mine is kinda beat up around the toe (see pics), probably from fall off a cart. Do you recomend refinishing? Golfsmith quoted $40-50 and 1-2 months. Also, I've heard not to powdercoat because TS uses foam in their heads.
lightrider
It should be a deep blue. I just sent mine in to be refinished. CCC thought it was foamed but, just I talked with Joe K. about this yesterday and he said that, unless it was foamed by somebody else, this head is not foamed. Its hard to believe that its not from hearing the thud at impact but, if anyone knows, it would be Joe.

lightrider
:smile2: So the 310 is 310cc, the 390 is 390cc, and the 340 is 340CC? Sure is more confusing than TM. :yuk:

I don't know that I could get that beautiful color back. AGG, if the head is not foamed then I'm even more amazed at the feel. 344cc or 340cc, blah...blah...blah. It has perfect size, shape, and dimension. Other than the RX-1 Type315 I can't get any other Tourstage drier to perform as well as the J340. I thought the Maru Spec. felt a little better, and maybe it's a little longer...but nothing performs, looks, and feels as good as the 340.
