James
Hi, i've been hearing about the different types of r7, (r7 tp, tour, xd) and the new drivers from TM to replace the r500 series. when will these be out in US and how are (the r7s) they different? And will original r7's price drop after the new ones come out? Arent the r7s supposed to replace the r580?
+TourSpecGolfer
Hi James, Welcome to the site! The R7 is not replacing the R5 series, It is just an additional driver in their line up. So far there is the R7 M.A.X, R7, R7 TP and R7 Tour. My guess is the R7 XD will come out in 4 months and then the R7XD Tour..lol
James
thanks. but what are the differences between all of these?
+TourSpecGolfer
thanks. but what are the differences between all of these? Im not 100% posotive but from the top of my head: R7 M.A.X = Japan non conforming R7 = retail model lower C.O.G about a .5 closed face R7 TP = Square face higher C.O.G better shaft options R7 TP Tour = square - open face ( same as TP ) depends on the player it was built for. R7 XD = ???? maybe it will come, but it will be an R7 with some kinda new technology. R12 = :spit:
MGB
That's spot on Chris! I'll second the R7 MAX and R7 have a slightly closed face. My last bout with the R7, I had the thing on the more left (#6) setting to avoid the wicked hook, but still managed to hit it left on accasion. Can't wait to hit the R7 TP with the GD I65. That sounds like a winner. If Joe's observations are correct, differences between the Tour and TP versions should be minimal.
