dodge
What do you think of pausing at the top of the swing?
Junior
Personally, I don't even think about pausing at the top. Its not a concious thought during my swing. If its overdone it will definitely cause a lose of power. Instead of thinking about pausing think about making a smooth transition from backswing to down swing. KascoPro
I hate it. It makes me crazy when I get a new student who pauses at the top. I have a question. Are there golf coaches in Japan who teach that? It seems like tons of Japenese Ladies have a long pause at the top.

Exactly, why pause, why kill your tempo, distance, power. If you can feel the pause like metronome, than do it. I am not a fan of that extra thought! James
Personally, I do it. because I don't lose distance from it plus it helps me feel the rythm of the swing better.
KascoPro
What do you think of pausing at the top of the swing? Ask Charles Barkley If he like his.
TTLam
I've done it before, but only to bring my swing in sync. After I felt it better, I went back to no pause. When my timing (body, arms, hips, legs), is off, pausing at the top helps me gather the body parts and swing in sync! However, if you're in sync with your swing, don't pause to mess up the tempo. juststeve
Not really a pause but a quiet spot at the top suits me fine. Steve

phil75070
I'm not for it. Your lower body should be starting forward before your hands and arms have completed the backswing. This is what will help create lag and increased clubhead speed.
