Posted July 9, 200420 yr comment_47677 I've noticed that these brands are not mentioned here. I don't know why but...The face of the 4 star Honma driver was very hot., as well as the S Yard fairways. Does anyone know where to get these?

Does anyone know where to get these? Yes I can get them for you no problem. The reason why I don't mention them on this site is because of their noodle shafts and 2 degree close faces. I do have access to custom made tour issue honma but it will cost you an arm and leg.
July 10, 200420 yr Author comment_47948 I hit one and I agree about the shaft. But I liked the light head on the honma and the feel of the s yard. How are their irons? Would you reccommend the r7 rather than them? (for feel and distance) Thanks alot.
July 10, 200420 yr comment_47996 Honma has been moving away from the gold plated stuff lately. They actually have normal looking stuff. The Tour World "athlete" blades and the Tour World P CBs are last years models but are very very good. They also now have heavier shaft options for the better players as well.
July 10, 200420 yr comment_48008 i gotta agree with u there...ive been pulling old stuff out of the closet like my syard fairway woods and my honma lb300 driver....they feel awesome !!!
July 10, 200420 yr Author comment_48010 wow we DO have some Honma and SYard people here. Yeah. I tried the 300lb with a different shaft and it feels a lot like the old school big berthas cept much longer. Has anyone tried their irons?

Has anyone tried their irons? Yep..i have a set of blades...they are the pp727..tour special bullet back...and i used to own a set of the tour cavity backs....hf 737...or something like that...super soft forging but lots of offset even for the tour model...the blades are awesome but the sole design needs updating !
July 10, 200420 yr comment_48021 Almost all Honmas are not forged but they do use a specific "soft steel" that feel on par or even better than the very good forgings. Maruman is also going that way with the Exims made of soft steel. I have a guest set of LB 280s in a "black barrel" finish. They look like a hybrid of blades and Ping Eye 2s. They are Regular flex graphite so they don't really make my personal rotation. But the quality is top notch. When I ordered these custom when I said 37.75 5 iron they asked if that was length with or without grip. :surprize:
