Two questions. After lots of reading on all the web boards, I am still unable to get the question of " What are the differences in all of the CB models? Japanese, Tour, miura forged, etc. answered. I am trying to order a set through P.U.D from my rep and I want to know if I will be getting the good miura forged ones. Next, who knows about the new offerings by TM? Heard about the new LT tour styles going retail? How about something like the machined models coming available and replacing the CB's? Maybe durring august sometime? Any help would be great. Thanks, G

If your going to get RAC CB's either get the Japanese TM which is for sure Miura forged, tour (most definetly Muira forged) or the RAC TP's. There is a world of difference between the Muira forged irons and the crap China coin forged irons. I suggest waiting around though because in a few months TM will probably come out with a new set of CB that many tour players are currently playing with. Design is very similiar to the tourstage z101's and mr23 cb's. But if you can't wait around the RAC CB's are great irons as far as playability and forgiveness.

Man are they nice. Whew!! I still want to play Taylormade clubs if possible. I think I can wait until later this year if nothing else. Has anyone seen the new models? I also heard the Forgings, although different stampings were all from the same company, just mis-labeled? Sure would be nice to know what exactly happened there. Thanks for the info. Grant

There are some "coin forged" irons from the tour that are Miura forged, but still say coin forged on the hosels... The new iron models that are coming out won't be out this summer either. There are limited sets out now, but won't go into production until next year... when they do go into production they will be MUCH more expensive than the CB's or the MB's currently are... and if you want to get them this summer it will cost $3-4k... I'd go with either Taylor Made MB or CB's that are Miura forged, try to get a tour set if you can find one...

You can expect the new forgings from TM to show up late third or early fourth quarter of this year. Probably in Asia first as they did with the R7. Hornyjuan's right, the cavity'll look like Tourstage's. Justin Rose has been playing the proto since the beginning of the season.

Im stoked, I met a friend today in my small town whos very good friend works on a van for the senior tour. He's a 30 handicap and just received a Tour TP R7 and some tour v-steels. Im still in shock. Lets see if he can get some new proto irons for me.

Any word on new blade models to replace the MB?

Not in the immediate future. There's not much more to do but improve quality of manufacture or to go to a full custom program for the blades. The immediate areo of growth is with forged cavity models. They incorporate forgiveness with feel (or should) giving us the best of both worlds.

If I wanted a new set of blades, they'd be Mizuno custom M-stamps. I still have to figure out how to pay for them, though...
