any exercise is good exercise, I like to do simple core stuff during the season, crunches; side bends; and just light lifting to hit the major muscle groups. I've found that the stronger my midsection, both abs and lower back, and obliques are the quicker I turn thru the ball and the farther it goes...just mho

I agree that the core muscles are among the most important in golf and many other sports. But care must be taken to create a balanced fitness program that doesn't neglect or overdevelop certain muscle groups. Best way to stay injury free.
