pargolfing
Help I'm wanting a deep faced 3 wood that is LONG. Anyone have any sugestions?
PxExG
well I think the best 3 wood money can buy is the Sonartec SS-03 and it just so happens that its deep faced & long. 970 Silver could also work but I would lean towards the Sonartec. Breal
The Titleist 970 is a great one alot of PGA players are using it still. Its found by some people to be hard to hit off the fairway. You should check out the new TS FST+ or FST those are cannons. The SS-03 Sonartec is a pretty good fairway also. Good luck
jonny5
I agree with the sonartec suggestion. Also try mizuno mp-001 and the 980f (that should be easier to hit than the 970's). O ya, v-steel too.

nearfall152
I always get a lot of crap for this, but I have GBB2 and they are very deep faced, maybe too much so, and they play a lot stronger than their lofts. As almost always though, a custom shaft is a necessity.
xxio
Laugh at this one. Just for the hell of it I put an old Cally "Bobby Jones" 3 wood I hadn't played in 4 years in the bag because of the deep/square face. Just 1 round on it so far but it might knock the 300 tour out real soon. Looking for a Fuji to put in it.

I put the "BJ" 3 wood in play the other day and hit it far, straight and actually with a little bit of air under it. Would you have a Callaway/Bobby Jones 5 wood? Also which Fuji (I'm a Fuji snob) performs most like a EI 70 Tour S. The EI70 in the 3 looks so old it might snap any moment. I have seen the smoothie you built for Willy. He bought that knowing I would buy it off him if he couldn't hit it. Now he doesn't want to let go....email him tell him the head is defective (it'll only work if you sleep apnea) and sell him a sonartec. TM is slowly creeping like a cancer into his bag (TM 300s last time we played).

I would have to say 660 is the closest to the EI70 eventhough they are both had a different charracter but their spec is close enough. Just borrow it off him and purposely put a sky mark on it, he'll let it go in no time. The BJ 1 dot and 5 wood are not for sale, they are collectors item. Actually the 2 dot is even rarer but i can't hit it , so i figure i'll sell it. :smile1: Joe

zojo
I'm currently looking for a nakashima np-1 3 wood, but I can't find any used ones, they seem pretty sweet, along with looking awesome

Guest
Just received mine. If you liked the F-ST, you'll love the F-ST+ (looks wise). I prefer a deeper face and this one's perfect. The stock shaft also seems more than decent (although I have only swung it at home). I'm sure it'll play sweet
+TourSpecGolfer
Good news is the GAF1 Fairway wood heads just arrived today. I ordered a stash of Tourspec HK80 Stiff flex to fit in them. I will be doing a full comparison review GD w/HK80 vs FST+.
