Gauge Design CB vs Tourstage US Spec CB

David, I can only comment on the MR 23s, but you already know how good that set is.

I know our trade should be getting to you shortly and you're already thinking about another set? Wow! If you didn't trade in the RACs you'll be close to 5 sets.

Back to the thread...I'd be interested in any comparisons as well.

For those who have hit both, looking for opinions on comparison. If you had to choose, which one would you pick?

Thanks.

I have owned both and currently own the GD's. The US Spec CB's are completely different than the Gauge. The Gauge are much more modern in design. I had Rifle 6.0's in each.

Feel - They both feel equally good. The Gauge being a little firmer.

Forgiveness - Gauge wins here hands down. I know the MRCB's are easy to hit, but nothing like the Gauge.

Distance - Again the Gauge. They are the longest irons I've ever hit. Surprising really. That was the hardest thing to get used to. I kept over shooting the greens.

Design - The Gauge are longer with more offset in the shorter irons. Long irons have almost no offset. I usually don't care for offset, but it doesn't bother me at all and works very well. MR's have minimal offset throughout the set. More bounce on the MR's too. I had to get used to the minimal bounce with the Gauge, but it was easy to adapt.

Trajectory - I had Rifle 6.0's in each but I put 5.5 Project X in my MR's to try to bring the trajectory down a little. Gauge trajectory is medium and fits me well.

Workmanship - Gauge hands down have more attention to detail and design. The TourStage MR CB's are very nice looking. The heads are much smaller than the Gauge. I'll take the Gauge with this one too. The Forging on the Gauge is tighter and more uniform.

I have to agree with FAQ. I've had both, and although the looks of the Tourstage is awesome, the performance of the GD is not to be believed. They are a larger, more offset blade, but really perform well and are SOOO forgiving. Just make sure you get the right shaft and take some time to get used to the looks.

I have the XBladeCbs and love them. But getting drawn into a set of Gauge. Any comments between these two?
