Very good post right there! So 14* is the magic number hey... Hmm, might have to buy a adjustable driver and do some experimenting.... Thanks for the tips!

I've heard the Aldila Rogue 125 MSI (which I have but haven't played enough yet to get a conclusive opinion on) and the KuroKage XT are phenomenal shafts! SLDR 430 is extremely low launch and spin which might be why you can go with a 12* head in it. If I tried playing a 12* head in something other than the SLDR I'd spin it so much it would I'd end up with negative yardage. 8.5 has always worked but I'm now curious to try 9.5 and even 10.5 with a super low spin/launch shaft and see what happens in terms of accuracy and distance.
  3. I can get a T.388 for a very good price should I go for it? Any real reason to get one or pass?
  4. Feel is nice? What's the upside to using this head over someting like the Egg 1 or 435 Black or ZY-11 or the new Honma drivers? I'm curious about it and my Diamana X is 70 TX.
  5. Would the S-Yard fit the bill for me? 9.5 is higher than I normally play but if it's super low spin and launch it doesn't matter. Was thinking of putting a Diamana X in it. Are they foamed (I hope not).

I've never hit the .388... is it foamed?

That's some top level experimentation right there! Funny, I did notice the screws were quite loose when I went to adjust the weights so I tightened them up as much as possible and I did notice the sound was a little bit different (maybe a little less of a pop/thwack) but I didn't realize there is a whole science behind this and guys purposely adjust screw depth to fine tune audible sound. Very interesting! Thanks for the help man, I appreciate it.

Thanks for the feedback! Have you tried the 435 Black?

My pleasure. I love this community! It's a TX shaft tipped an inch aldila recommended I tip it 1-1.5" based on 120+ swing speed. I've never played more than a 9.5* driver in my life and I launch those things really high typically so I'm a little scared about going with a 10* head... Ya those Nike Sasquatch drivers were absolute filth! I was using a s**tty Winn grip so I slipped on a Iomic and I'm going to give this driver another shot. Not going to jump the gun but if I don't like it again, I'm thinking the Honma Tour World 455 or JBeam 435 Black or the Egg 1. Thoughts? Actually is there anyway to un-foam a driver head? Pour acid in there haha?
  10. Finally got the ZY-11 shafted with the Aldila Rogue 125 MSI (90t) shaft that everyone on tour is going nuts about - it's winning everything. It's a really nice looking head. Not as deep as it looks in photos but deep enough. The face milling is a unique looking touch and the fit and finish is all very nice. Very beastly looking. I ordered mine at 8.5* with a .5* open face (it looks square at address). I hit up the range two days ago and upon first whack my reaction was "huh?". Hit another and another and another and same thing... "huh"? This continued for about two hours. I gotta say, i've never hit a driver that feels like this. Chris says a lot of people like it but for me; it felt like I was hitting a wooden baseball bat against a concrete pillar. I guess that's what a foamed head does to feel. I don't want to bash the head because feel is preference but for me, I thought the feel was utterly dead. These Japanese heads are light 195g so this only plays to a C9 or D0 which for me, is too light, so I was hooking everything, initially. I highly recommend buying the Crazy weight kit because when I adjusted the sole weights it made a big difference. Hooks were minimized and ball flight was mostly straight. I've only hit two drivers I haven't been able to get up in the air... the Taylormade SLDR 430 TP and the ZY-11. This thing is LOW (at least with this shaft) and extremely low spin. This and the SLDR 430 TP are the two lowest spinning heads I've hit and I think this is lower. I was hitting into a bit of a wind and there was absolutely no ballooning... if anything the wind was knocking the ball down. Almost knuckle-ball like. Distance was difficult to gauge because there was a bit of a wind and the sound and feel was so muted it through me off. It looked to be good but again, I can't say for sure (everyone else seems to think these heads are among the longest so I'm sure its long). I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this head because I just get around the feel. It's so strange to me. For some this may be the holy grail, I'm not sure. I may try the 435 Black or one of these new Honma drivers everyone seems to like or the Egg 1. Let me know if you have any questions.
  11. No twisting hey... Hmmm... what holds it in place without the stickiness of the tape?
  12. I bought some new Iomic and Elite Grips and I want to do some experimenting so I don't really want to put these on with solvent because I'd like to be able to save them. Just wondering if any of you guys use an airgun to blow your grips on and how they perform if so? Pros, cons? Thanks!
  13. Interesting. You're talking about the jBeam or Crazy 435 head? What about the Kamui Kpx or whatever that super super deep face head is? And what is so special about the stinger? The boron? Is it better than Crazy's boron offering?
  14. Supo what is the best driver combo you've ever played? You've clearly tried almost every combo known to man.
  15. I know there's a ton of opinions on this but clearly "Flo'ing" a shaft does change the oscillation pattern for the better. I tried Flo'ing my first shaft the other day (Aldila Rogue 125 MSI) but I couldn't get it to oscillate in a straight line... What do you guys think about this whole Flo thing? Legit? BS? Not sure? Never trust an aussie lol? Part 1 - Part 2 -

I've heard the Miyazaki Black is fantastic although I don't think it's made of anything super exotic or anything, just a low spin, launch high performer.
  17. That is a great idea!
  18. Can't wait for this. Hope I went with the right choice (ZY-11).
  19. Favorite wedge I've ever used, all around.
  20. Oh man I cannot wait for this!!! Have you hit the Rogue Tour 125 MSI. I need to know which shaft to purchase next! Thanks.
  21. Interesting. How does it stay in place?
  22. Just getting into ordering all my new club building stuff. Is this preferred way to add swing weight to a club by putting brass plugs into the tips of the shaft or does that deaden the feel? Lead tape on the irons? Any other options other than increasing club length and or using a very light grip? Thanks guys!
  23. I can't honestly say because this is the first set of conforming wedges I've played since the rule change. Based on range balls with 3/4 and 1/2 swings I find they bite really well actually. I was hitting shots out of the sand with a 56 and 60 using Titleist practice balls and they were stopping dead on the green and this is in a California drought so based on preliminary testing if you're compressing the ball well you should be just fine. If you open the face they really bite. Again this is with range balls! The one thing that stands out for me over the Gold's wedges and to a lessor extent the Sky Dream Jump type bite wedges I have no is the Vokey's are so easy to chip with from any lie. They're just a perfect size and so versatile. Feel is clicky if you miss slightly for excellent feedback and soft and pure (think miura) when pured. I love them.
  24. I'll sell you my Recoil Protos but I think they're 125 X flex...
  25. "with jBeam"... meaning along with Jbeam these are two of the best?
