  1. 4 iron is optional. these should be available soon. worldwide release was sept 8 so should be available already. i really wish they had this finish option in the AF series. its sooo hot!!! they call it Black Midnight
  2. FYI unless you have forearms like Casey, you won't enjoybthe c10s I only liked em in wedges. Your a happy camper w the monacos!
  3. haha. we are always searching for the perfect club! frankly we have more chances of spotting Leprechauns gone wild than finding "THE ONE"
  4. thanks Ian! i saw these last month in wrx and made some offers but the guy wouldnt let em go for his asking price . then you posted em here and i said i had to have these. thanks buddy. anyone know where these were forged? endo?
  5. i have the same in #2. from an era where men used 1 and 2 irons and not hybrids
  6. they have been bent, ground, lofted etc etc by joe kwok. find his stamp in the toe kinda cool. they arent finished yet as i will be sending them to have more work done. 2I at address. scary. makes my personals look like backhoes
  7. yes i agree the yonex wedges are a steal!
  8. haha i wont be selling this and if i do it will go to japan to be enshrined in stew's yamaha golf museuem
  9. yes they were very heavy. i found the profile in my meager s flex to be stiffer than the ora-x. i guess its the shaft profile. very x100esque . have you gamed the 2s14?
  10. guys i can say with confidence that the irons are now headed my way. i did not want to jinx it because the seller was debating not letting em go for so low. completing the original project and tasked the previous modder to get em regrooved and tweaked! ive never been so excited to test new irons out!
  11. a302 no plans. af 502 who knows.. i wouldnt hold my breath though for the 302s
  12. ok guys i played with the 6 and 7 iron borrowed from my dad. i played one with the stock shimada 7001r flex and reshafted the 7 iron with a dgs300 and let me say that they are much more enjoyable to hit compared to the 502s. the 502s are softer yet more detached and numb, these 551s are livelier and have a click like feeling in the longer cb undercut irons while the 7 is nice and solid. those who have hit the older epon irons like the 501 and type x will feel very nostalgic. i miss this feeling. i like these very much. i think pricing will be the determinant if these will be a success or not.
  13. anyway i wonder how these would feel compared to our modern blades. i cant beleive how fresh they look. the shape looks modern to me.
  14. does it make sense that someone who invested so much on those irons would pull them off Wrx because of all the lowballers yet unload them off ebay at 299 1 bidder? fyi i pmd joe kwok about these and said that these are his handiwork and that he specially ground them and put a modern grind to resemble the mp68. i want these soo bad
  15. I emailed Joe kwok and he confirmed his handiwork. He extensively ground every head to make the sole More playable, his exact words were I ground them To make the grind versatile like an MP68 grind.. He said it is definitely more playable than a mire blade
  16. i emailed the guy id buy it now for $600 but never got a reply. for 299 he should have taken my offer! id hit those
  17. Some info on the crazy sick set of yamaha hal sutton joe kwok grind irons. seriously this is one of the best looking irons i have ever seen! handground by joe kwok! Hand Ground by Joe Kwok for modern sole relief (heal, toe, leading / trailing edges) - over $1,000 worth of work Hand stamped by Joe Kwok to show authenticity (see symbol high on toe of each club) Story: Another WRXer started this project. He bought the clubs from somone in decent condition and decided to have them ground to play like the most modern sets from the best makers. Sent them to Joe Kwok and paid over $1,000 to grind all nine (9) of the irons. Joe finished them, weighed them and shipped them back. I bought them from the owner at that stage as he didn't want to get further into the project. I bought the ground heads off the GolfWRX BST a while back, but they needed to be refinished. I first had them bent to my specs (see picture below) and then took them to Quality Golf Products in Fountain Valley, CA, to have them sent off for rechroming (original satin) and original paintfill. While they were away for 3 weeks being refinished, I bought some great two silver ring ferrules to match the heads, DG TI S-400 shafts (2-PW), and some Tour Issue Golf Pride victory cord grips. Quality Golf then fitted the heads to the shafts (carefully filling the shaft pin hole in the hosel with lead), cut them to length (see below specs) and installed the grips. I then contacted Joe Kwok and asked him to do me the honor of hand stamping each head to document his grinding work. Joe not only hand stamped them, but also precisely measured each clubhead for loft, lie, and club for length and swingweight. What a professional and perfectionist! It was truly and honor to watch him work. The first restoration owner had $1,400 into these. I added an additional $700 (rechrome, shafts, grips, ferrules, labor, bending, stamping, final tweaks) to that total, so they have had approximately $2,100 invested to restore them to better than original condition.
