  1. il find out in an hour. taking this experiment with a grain of salt and dont expect it to work at all. who knows though there may be a little surprise. will have updates after i try it.
  2. thanks. does anyone know the difference between GD YS-H 85 shafts and the GD UT-85? the shafts i got in the gfield hybrids i purchased from hk are the YS-H 85?
  3. guys i have been experimenting with a lot of hybrid shafts lately, my most interesting was when i used a spare speeder fw shaft and tip trimmed it to fit my 22* hybrid, results were phenomenal. thats another story. now i have shafted a 24* gfield uw head with a Exsar IS2 Tour Spec graphite shaft pulled from a mizuno mp fli hi 3 iron. shaft is about 105 grams. had to add about 1/2" extender. the club feels extremely robust and solid. SW is d4. cpm came out to 280... i have mixed feelings about the compatability of a graphite shaft intended for irons on a hybrid. i recall i wanted to put an axiv shaft and even a roddio i10 graphite shaft i them but someone said it wasnt a good idea. will test the club in the range later in the day. trying this experiment becasue i got so many idle shafts lying around and it killed me to see that lonely gfield head left out
  4. guys i am looking for any FW or UT shaft pulls. preferred brands are ozik, gd quattro, axiv. these will be used for experimentation purposes. im searching for the perfect combo for my stock epon 3 wood, gfield 4 wood and g field hybrids. thanks
  5. pics would be great when you have them. that epon bag would certainly replace my old beat up ogio:)
  6. memories of my childhood.......... i had all those robots when i was a kid. mazinger z, daimos and voltes-v were my favorites. wish i collected them though. nice imaginative contest entry. i can particularly hear the song playing in my head lol! good job. btw just noticed your avatar. im a pacman fan as well!
  7. would that tbc wedge happen to be in 58*? picked one up:) buzz nice bag. love the wedges. im wondering if you are satosfied with your hyper erc? ive been eyeing that club for over a year. i owuld be down on it for sure if i wasnt happy with my ercIII. reviews on the superstroke would be appreciated once you had ample time with it. i need something like that to calm my nerves and reduce excessive wrist movement when putting.
  8. succesfully added the shim without problems. had to tip the shaft a little. The speeder shaft and gfield head is an amazing combo. i got more from this experiment than i bargained for.
  9. C, can you confirm if the vintage copper is totally different from the copper listed in your proshop? when i thnk copper i think ala copper x wedge. thanks
  10. and when i just pulled the trigger on two coppers............... :tsg_smilie_surprise:this one looks cool. aj yes i think these are replacement to the technicity wedges
  11. when you and chris drop hints like that you raise my blood pressure and i cannot relax do share hint hint
  12. of the three finishes what is the most durable aside from the standard chrome satin? im trying to figure out how brushed satin looks like...... do you have any pics?
  13. cannot wait to see the wedges and irons in the flesh. the af701 looks like a looker. im really really curious about the tungsten weighting on the sole. will compare these to existing models once i get the chance. guys post pics when you have them for real
  14. im curious as well. i do mine the hardway i test when i have the shaft. most of the time im satisifed other times im left with a shaft that either has cpms lower than my liking or stronger.
  15. Chris, just a question, with the black option would the finsih in the sole and face wear off ala black oxide or is the finish durable? jeff ordered a set of copper af301s?
  16. my epon driver is just about as long as my ercIII but then again i am still getting the hang of my roddio shaft and i can easily gain say 15 yards once i get used to the shaft so i think my epon driver has the potential to be the longest driver ive had. as for the irons i generally hit my type x irons longer than my previous irons, then again the type x has stronger lofts and i am using much heavier shafts. cant quantify the distance as there are many shaft possibilities as well as player swing profiles to consider. what works for you wont necessarily be the same for others. also for me distance is not really a factor for me, hell id like to be long in all my clubs but what i generally preferr is feel, consistency, accuracy and forgiveness. the epon certainly caters to all my needs and more. i wouldnt shift to a longer driver if i cant hit it well most of the time.
  17. cool!!! how come your irons are black and without logos? looks good. love the bag too.
  18. teflon black is the bomb! if i was going to go for golds it would defintely be this color option.
  19. my speeder has been excessively trimmed by the original owner from the looks of it. i suspect it is a fairway wood shaft trimmed to fit a hybrid head. i received the shaft at 39.25 " cpmd at around 265. will further tip trim it to 39" for my 22* hybrid. final cpms should match my GD ysh 85 hyrbid shafts on my 18/20. hope playing characteristics are as buttery as the gd
  20. now i am very confused. i always thought that the shafts were ascending weighted meaning that the lightest would go into the long irons with the heaviest being in the wedges. as for what jeff said i dint even know iron heads were weighted differently. this would mean that the heads are all progresively heavier with the black golds shafts getting lighter as you progressed to short irons. although this makes sense would it not negate the advantages of having heavier weighted heads in short irons and making the shafts lighter for em? i would think that having the shafts in constant weights would make more sense. could someone enlighten me?
  21. what kind of black does he use? it isnt black oxide is it? also wondering if this finish will eventually wear of? thanks
