Spoon are you saying I could go with taper tip shafts in the 701's without shims? The Quadras sound really nice by the way.

Thanks for the reply, does Quadra do both parallel and taper tip for irons? The reason I'm asking is that I have a mixed set of Epons (302's and 701's) and that would be perfect for this setup. I know about shims for those that are thinking that way. The only club builder where I live that is any good won't do shims. Jim

Sorry no help on wedges since I'm also looking for new ones myself but am curious about your short game guru's method. In the bunker with a closed stance are you aiming left, right or straight at the target and are you playing the wedge open or not. Also you mentioned hitting flop shots and I assume from greenside locations not in the bunker with the same stance and wedge position. I might have to give this a try! Jim

I'm in total agreement here, the 302's are something special!! I've demo'ed the TM's and they are a good iron but the 302's are in a class by themselves. If you are a decent ballstriker do yourself a favor and get the Epons.

I want to reshaft two Mizuno MP FliHi irons (3 and 4) that currently have 102 gram Mizuno Exsar Tour Spec shafts. They are taper tip shafts and I'm looking for something a bit lighter and a bit livelier as in getting the ball up a bit more. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey "supo" thanks for all the great info!!! So you're saying you're hitting the 17* past your 15* TEE, then you must be nailing your egg 15* close to your driver distance. Are you thinking the 13* will give you similar driver distance with more control and I would think another option out of the fairway for long par 5's. Just wondering.

I recently received a combo set of 302's and 701's from TSG. I have not hit the PRGR so I am worthless in that regard but since I'm now playing the 302's they are everything you've read about them here and on other sites. I have three rounds and a few practice sessions with them and I always hate it when someone says on one of these websites "these are the best irons I have ever hit" but if these aren't the best feeling irons I've ever hit I'd not be telling the truth because they really are. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either but I was down to Yamaha and Epon and I've got to tell you that it came down to the fact that these are Endo's own iron and how could you go wrong with that scenario! Anyway good luck in your choice and hopefully someone that has hit both can offer a comparison between the two.

It's not right to tease a guy waiting for his new irons to arrive with statements like that!

Ended up going with the Epon 302/701 combo set with TT GS95 shafts. I think I would have always second guessed myself if I hadn't gone with the Epons since I had demo'd the 302 and liked it a bunch and knew nothing about the other irons except for what I had read here and other sites. Will give a review after they arrive and I have a chance to take them out for a round or two.
