Scratch iron info?
BP, Turnaround time on orders is about 4 weeks right now. The Classic Blade is about the same size as the TA1s but just a little bit shorter from heel-toe. We will be offering 3-PW sets as well as 2-PW sets. We will be offering custom mixed sets of Tour Blades and Tour CBs for a $300 upcharge starting in about 4-6 weeks. We will actually be using 2 full sets of heads for these combo sets. That will give us the ability to make the set makeup however the customer wants. It will leave us with alot of useless heads laying around but it is simply the only way for us to be able to offer combo sets with a custom configuration. Ari - you should finish those "useless" heads and offer them as demos. BTW - LOVE the looks of the classic blade. :) The Classic Blade is as pure as it gets. I wish I had a better swing so I could play them. That is exactly what I plan on doing. We are going to be selling one prototype combo set out of our first run of irons so I can send the other heads around to TSG members as demos. In the next couple weeks I am going to post a sign up thread for the demos. Put me 1st on the list for the blade demo!

bowing in steel shafts
No shaft is perfectly straight, round or spineless. This is pretty common and is one of the reasons spining / FLO'ing is so important.

Miura-Tourstage-Hiro Matsumoto-Fourteen
My choice would be the Miura's - they are just a classic design (Chris says "basic" I say "classic"), quality, forged head. Best irons I've ever played.

Swing Weight Change in RM - Help Me Understand
EW - Jeez, I'd tell you to ship it to me and I'd do it for you, but you'd pay close to $50 just in shipping. Surely, one of the clubbuilders in the post above can help you out. Good luck!

Swing Weight Change in RM - Help Me Understand
Hmmm... where are you? I don't like to use shims either. They usually don't fit right and require a lot of extra work (like handsanding to fit). Turbodog is right... if the ID of the hosel is .355" then a .350" tip shaft would work (5 thousandths of an inch ain't gonna matter). Have him use epoxy with shafting beads to make sure the shaft is centered (the beads will also take up the extra slack in the hosel.

Elegant - your calculations are correct. But one thing you can't really estimate is the effect of the balance point of the shaft. A point closer to the grip and your SW would be lighter, balance point closer to the tip and your SW goes up. I'll give you an example. I just reshafted an MP001 3 wood that had the stock steel TT DG shaft (~125g). It was D4 in stock form at 42.25". I put in an NV 85s (88g uncut) at 43". So, it should have been -4 (for shaft weight) + 4.5 (for the extra .75") or D4.5. But it came out at our target SW of D3 b/c the balance point on the NV is more butt biased than the TT DG. If you are trying to achieve a length of 42" first, and SW is secondary, find a shaft you like and install it to that length and let the SW be what it is.

Are you going to sell the MB5002 part of your set? If so, I might be interested in the 6 - PW.

Miura CB-201 vs Tourstage Z-101...
Hey, Mike - I had PX's in mine at first and thought the PX's felt a little harsh. But the heads felt great! I pulled the TFRs from my MP29s and put them in the Miura's and... holy crap, even softer feel! Either way, my Miura's will NEVER come out of my bag!

Miura CB-201 vs Tourstage Z-101...
I have the CB1005s (the japanese version the 201s are based on) in my bag, and they are there to stay.

Forging - I need more Info. on Miura vs. Endo vs...........
Thanks for the info, Ak. Also, how do you like the NV Proto in your TP? What differences have you noticed over the stock 757?

Forging - I need more Info. on Miura vs. Endo vs...........
the .5g tolerance is post tooling I assume... its still pretty impressive either way... excessive? yes but a good marketing tool. anyhow I don't think Muria is anymore special than any other forger. I am willing to put my entire bag on the line if someone can tell a Muria 300 from an Endo just from hitting. As I said before I believe feel comes from sound... resonance... and anyone who has every struck a bell can tell you size and shape have more to do with sound than who made it. If you don't like Titleist irons its probably because of the design not because of where they are made. I think its cool to know who does the forging but to let it dictate your club choice is foolish. The .5 gram tolerance is for a finished head, and when you consider the inexactness of the plating process it's even more impressive. I'll take you up on that challenge, but I'm not putting my CB1005s on the line! Now, if you had prefaced that with "just from hitting... with earplugs" I'm not sure 99% of us could tell the difference. I agree with you, feel is based primarily on sound... ...so I guess my Miura's sound softer than any other brand! well if your not willing to put your clubs on the line where is the fun... I have hit the Muria 300's and mine side by side and I could hear no difference or feel no difference. The real test is to hit a bunch of the same clubs with different shafts... Rifles tend to make a club feel softer than DGs. I bet Ak has some of the softest feeling 300's around with that wooden dowl in the shaft... I bet that has a much greater effect than the forger. Hell, man, I just got my bag set... I ain't parting with it for nothing! :P Ah, see we differ on the Rifle vs. DG thing too. I think DGs feel softer than Rifles... the Rifles feel a little harsh or brittle to me. I think it's because I'm very aware of the kick I get with DGs, where I don't feel that as much with Rifles.

Ak - how long did you cut the dowels?

Miura CB-201 vs Tourstage Z-101...
MCsub - will be interesting to hear your comments after hitting both. "Noticeably better"... well, feel is so subjective, so all I can tell you is Miura's feel completely different than anything else I've ever hit (and I've hit the 101s).

Forging - I need more Info. on Miura vs. Endo vs...........
I don't know much about Endo forgings except that I hate the feel of Titty irons. But I can tell you that Miura makes a very special forging... but what makes them different than most is their tolerances. While most foundries will hold to a +/- 2g tolerance, Miura holds to a +/- .5g tolerance... most of which is due to their unique forging process. One misconception about Miura is that they us a copper underlay. Not true... they use a mixture (a blend) of copper and nickel everywhere but the face (where the scoring lines are) which has a pure nickel underlay.

HTD GXS shaft in V-Foil Driver ?
You simply don't have the swingspeed to power a 9.5* with a mid 70g stiff shaft. A softer flex in your 11* might be the ticket (the 70g range may be good for your tempo).

Tourspecgolf R700 thread! ** PICS**
Can someone put up the Justin Rose "prototype" driver pic? The heel design looks just like the pic of Justin's driver that came out a few weeks ago... the one where some said there was a port in the heel and others denied it. Looks like that might have been an R7 proto he was using.
