Crazy is a Geotech brand or Geotech made ?
thanx Tario! never quite figured why one manufacturer/brand would resell another manufacturer/brand products tho i guess they are not directly competing, different segments. kinda bizarre tho, must be a Japanese thing :)

Nippon BlackEye/BlackDiamond Steel Shaft
listed as 'coming soon' on the same site where i found Crazy heads listed as Geotech. also says 'Not NSPRO 999GH'. no further info or specs there. any scoop on this one ?

Crazy is a Geotech brand or Geotech made ?
just came across these while browsing http://www.progolfjapan.com/am_1012_1116-01/ http://www.progolfjapan.com/am_1012_1116-02/ these two are listed as heads only but listed as 'Geotech Crazy Original Driver Head' so naturally i got curious coz i thought Crazy is a separate, independent brand. now Geotech is rolling their own shafts with very interesting price/value and i'd like to know how they are related if at all or this is just nothing more than a simple website listing glitch or error.

Ball Review ProV1 v Mizuno MP 801 v Wilson FG Tour
nice review Petethepilot! regarding proV what i found out is the harder you hit it the softer it feels and the better you feel it on the face at impact. no idea what speed and compression it was designed for tho and havent tried recent incarnations of it personally. i stick with Bridgestone for their price/value.

Epon AF-Tour vs Miura 1957 Baby Blades vs ?
MG 5003 with NS 1150 here. true blade, pure joy to hit. forgiveness in terms of contact and turf interaction is not there and they wont cut you no slack.

Fairway woods ., old Vs new
nice post supo! somehow i think that if you practiced full time with RC heads you would hit them just as far, all other things being equal and as long as you are making solid contact.

Where is the New Titleist 910 Japan driver made?
i'm not arguing that. JDM gear is superior that way, probably same way as German cars that were made in Germany. problem is once you ramp up the volume you gonna have quality issues every now and then thats just how it is. so you have problems like Nike drivers made in China having marks stamped slightly off few years ago and you have PRGR Egg made in Japan finish problem reported on this forum. these things happen once the volume goes up and they are more likely to happen to high volume China production than low volume niche market JDM gear. Endo makes some stuff in Thailand and nobody seems to be complaining about the quality or having second thoughts about that. the point for me is if i try a club that i like alot i'm gonna buy it and i would buy that exact club that i hit even if its a demo club vs fresh off the rack i'd pay full price for that demo if needed because that is what i hit and liked coz another club off the rack might be just slightly different as well as JDM specific model of it being slightly different and neither would be the club i liked. call me insane but i think its just too difficult to find clubs that feel right and like they belong and if you found one i'd say dont let go off it no matter where its made or by whom.

Where is the New Titleist 910 Japan driver made?
none of that 'commie under your bed' stuff has anything to do with golf or club selection for playing the game but if that aspect is so important to you buy JDM specific models which in this case would be VG3 and it might be better in every way imaginable but its a different club from 910D2 that guy hit and liked. if there was a JDM specific version of 910D2 it would still be a different club.
-
Where is the New Titleist 910 Japan driver made?
910D2 is not a JDM model so there is no price difference on it so thats not the point. the point i was trying to make is if you managed to find a club you really like where its made shouldnt really be that important compared to the fact that you really like the club and it works great for you. i mean thats what its all about, right ?!

Where is the New Titleist 910 Japan driver made?
if you really like the club after actually hitting it why does it matter to you where its made ?!

ryoma driver
cg placement is what affects moi in relation to hosel. thanx for the link i think i understand what they mean now. they draw two lines : one along the face and the other one from the hosel center thru cg placement point then measure the angle between the two and call it "gravity angle". i guess they need some sort of reference there. then came marketing and made it into "the bigger the better" marketing number as it always happens ;)
-
ryoma driver
i still dont get it. here is what i know : the lower the moi of the head in relation to hosel the more it will tend to close and vice versa. so what does that angle measure in relation to that ?
-
ryoma driver
angle of gravity ?! that doesnt make any sense to me. probably lost in translation.
-
Grips, Grips, Grips
GP Tour Velvet BCT Cord. real solid but not hands friendly tho to be honest i dont believe there is a grip that is both very solid and hands friendly at the same time.
-
ryoma driver
yen for sure, the point he makes is that normally you would get something with a decent shaft for that not just head.
-
ryoma driver
is this the one you are talking about http://www.ryomagolf.co.jp/d1/page10.html or its the old/current model ? another question would be if its legal or not.

RC vs vs. Tourstage 705 driver
with you on Crazy, simply fugly but hey if it performs for you you'd rather have that than some eye candy that doesnt, right. personally really like that new RC design, no gimmicks.

Crazy Shaft (extra care needed)
:) need to find time to go get on a monitor and figure out what my numbers are right now. hopefully after that i can get some opinions and advise on this forum regarding shafts currently on the market to help me narrow down my shaft choice to go well with particular head before pulling the trigger on a new driver. coz getting right shaft is tough and it probably has the biggest influence on how that driver will perform for me.
-
Crazy Shaft (extra care needed)
i'm thinking new driver, was eying new RC model and upcoming MP Craft anyway. like i said didnt like the old one much anyway, it way kinda one trick pony. was going too high and while the shaft itself was a wee bit too soft for me i think the head had CG more at the back and even tho it claimed 9.5 i dunno what the real angle was, could have been 10.5 or 11 or who knows what plus i wanna deeper face coz my misses are vertical plus it should let me play some with ball placement too. maybe the old one sensed my thoughts and committed seppuku so to speak.

Crazy Shaft (extra care needed)
well folks i broke one today as well :( UST shaft, tip section, very close to drivers head, breakage looks similar to broken Crazy in that picture posted just in a single place not four. practicing on the range, off tall rubber tee, little if any contact with the mat, came out as nice shot actually then once the shaft went to the neck/shoulders and stopped i hear this sound similar to walking on thin ice, kinda like glass being fractured slowly, behind me so i bring that driver back in front of me and its head is basically hanging on very thin outer layer of the shaft and shaft core is broken like glass, snapped in two. stupid thing is that shaft never seen any abuse, never lean on it or anything so its not like i have seen this one coming. funny thing is that its far from being high end shaft but the sound it made and how that broken shaft core looks inside i'd say there is plenty of glass or similar in it. must have been a manufacturing or materials defect in my case tho, been playing it for awhile, out of warranty of course. good excuse to get a new driver i guess ;) i dint like it much anyway, too high and closed for my liking but i got used to it and it worked reasonably well.

Newcomer in the forged world
why does it puzzle you ? most folks are fine with what they can get off the shelf. not everybody can justify extra effort and expense getting JDM or any kind of custom clubs. you can take Mizuno for another example here. you can get them off the shelf but then the options are so limited that you gonna end up taking them to a club builder or rebuilding them yourself anyway and by the time you are done its probably gonna cost you roughly the same effort/cash as that custom set to begin with if you count your time as money.
