Uh oh, we gotta swing over 110mph at the F4?

Who makes the best golf balls?
I do not think there's such a thing as 'the best ball', just like I don't think there's a best shaft, driver, iron, wedge, putter, bag, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, hell, I don't think there's such a thing as the best anything! What works for one may not work for another; pros would no doubt play a different ball from a weekend hacker. I think perhaps you could try to find what's the best distance ball, or spin ball, or soft ball, just not a singular definitive best ball.

PRGR Egg Spoon HD?
Honestly, I think the Egg 2nd-gen is all a case of getting use to. I remember my first few hits, it sounded like someone was swinging something at me while I was trying to hit the ball! That swooshy sound on the downswing was really strange. The only thing that I was not so hot about was the too-low profile, which the HD corrected. Otherwise, I'd still be happily using the 2nd-gen.

PRGR Egg Spoon HD?
Curiously, the head of Egg Spoon HD, supposedly 'Heavy & Deep', is 2g lighter than the 2nd gen Egg Spoon's head! On the same Crazy FW80, they both feel the same on the swing; impact sound is a little different -- the HD giving a more 'solid' thud than the 2nd gen. The HD flies a little lower (understandably at 0.5° less loft) and maybe, just maybe, a tad longer. If you don't own an Egg Spoon, the HD is going to be way less of a culture shock from whatever other 3-wood you're using. It took me a while to live with the 2nd gen; the swooshy sound on the downswing, the thuddy sound of impact, the too-low profile off a tee -- all takes some getting use to. But once you've tamed it, there's no going back to another 3-wood. If you have the 2nd gen and are looking for a radically improved performance or feel from the HD, you're not going to find it. But I must say, I do like the HD more; the way it sits, the sound and the marginally incremental distance gain is enough for me. It's probably hard to justify springing $500 for just that little bit of difference but if you're anal retentive, like me, you're not going to sleep till you get it. ;)

Epon 502 vs Epon 302
Wow, that's completely opposite to what I am getting from these 2 irons. Again, not sure if the copper and black finishes have anything to do with it. Even so, I can't imagine it would be so drastically different.

Epon 502 vs Epon 302
The 502 didn't appeal to me too when I chose the 302 first time round. But I guess I had my heart set on the 302 so really, I was just picking the faults of all other clubs I was trying. When I tried the 502 again with an open mind, I began to realize the difference, and positive ones at that, and I appreciated that. After having playing both (on the course, not just the range), I wouldn't say one is necessarily 'better' than the other. They're both great irons, better than anything I have gamed, and I've played a few. Like you said, the purist would appreciate the 302, while a practical golfer may prefer the 502. Hehe, I think I'd quit golf if there were no new toys anymore. ;) But these are good stuff. The 502 is the chocolate lava cake of the golfing universe. They have some gel thing injected into the back of the face to give it some extra oomph. Apparently it is an amazing hi-tech feat with stories floating about of competitors buying and cutting up some 502s to learn how it's done. I have also heard some others have licensed that technology too.

Epon 502 vs Epon 302
Wouldn't it be good if Epon made a 402, combining the best of the 302 and 502 eh? ;)

Epon 502 vs Epon 302
It's not quite the same, as from what I was told, the Epon finishing is done directly onto the 'raw' irons, as opposed to adding another finishing to the existing Epon finish on the club. Would that change the playing characteristics of the club, I wonder?

You won't regret it. Life's too short to wait too long. Can't go far wrong with that. Thanks!

Epon 502 vs Epon 302
Hey Ian, hope you're not holding your breath man, it'll be a while before I have more than a few minutes for proper golf stick piccies with a new baby in the house. ;)

Epon 502 vs Epon 302
Epon 502 on Roddio i8 SR vs Epon 302 on Crazy LYI Neo S A 10-point cut-to-the-chase comparison 1. 302 launches a tad higher, which contradicts what I've heard. Could be the shaft. 2. 502 plays half club longer (for me). 3. 302 hits softer, not sure if the copper and/or black finish have anything to do with it. 4. 502 face 'hotter'; can definitely feel the ball speeding off in an instant. 5. 302 is more 'workable', more feel; 502 has a bit off a DOI (dead on impact) sensation. 6. 502 is more satisfying, in audible and tactile terms, on those full-blooded solid-contact hits. 7. 302 is less forgiving on mis-hits, losing more distance on thin and other ugly shots. 8. LYI Neo is more lively; more kick, more fun. 9. i8 more stable; eating up the whacks and finesse shots without any hiccups (a local clubmaker/pro proclaimed the i8 best shaft he'd ever hit). 10. Copper is more princely, Black is more badass.

Crazy CB-80LS Driver Shaft
Thanks for all your feedback. Not sure if I should be relieved or worried. All the positive notes are from golfers with a low single hcp to scratch! At that level, I am quite certain you are generating enough club head speed to be enjoy the 80LS. At my 90+ mph swing, would I be able to milk it for all its worth?

Crazy CB-80LS Driver Shaft
Hey there, thanks for the feedback. I've since moved up to 11, but I have a better short game than long these days so don't let the hcp overly impress. I am of the opinion that high end shafts with low torque are no fun -- too much of a 'one piece' feel for my liking. Could have been the wrong flex, I've been advised to go a flex down with good shafts. The LY01s have been good, a bit too 'springy' and can get a little wild when I really whack it, but I've hit some bombs so yeah, not complaining much. I do wish it was a little less 'springy' though, which I think is adding to the wildness; I think the 80LS would take care of that. However, it's very playable and friendly, I can waltz up to the first tee cold and still manage a decent drive; definitely don't want to lose that! I don't need gear that makes the game harder, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I've decided to get it so it's now about speccing it right for the chosen head. If only it came in that Hello Kitty detailing... ;)

New Epon Products - My Impressions - RF551 AF103 EHR
Tried both the 502 and 551 with an intent on picking up one of the two. For me, the 502 win, hands (and pants) down. I seriously did not think it felt 'dead' at all, which coming from playing the 302 is causing some head scratching for me. What I dd feel quite clearly, was that wonderful trampoline effect; the ball seems to shoot off the face like a bullet. Such a contrast to the 302, which feels like hitting soft sticky balls. In my opinion, the 502 was heads and shoulders over the 551 -- sorry, just didn't do anything for me. A remark I read earlier about the 502 being 'point and shoot' irons -- spot on! Just like the X2 has relegated the M9 to the depths of the cold dry box, I have a feeling the 502, when it arrives, will retire the 302 to novelty status. ;)

Head-to-Head: Kamui vs Ryoma
Hey there, Tario is right, you can't pick up either driver from a store in SG. Speak with Tario/Gocchin, the customization is important to get the most of the club and so far, all of Tario's recommendations have been spot on for me. ;)

Head-to-Head: Kamui vs Ryoma
Daniele, talk to Tario from TSG. He'll be able to fit you with either of these drivers suited to your game and ship it to you. It's better than buying from a store, if you ask me. ;)

Super Newing Ball
Sold them man! One was still in its wrapper. Just couldn't find use of them. Pity. :(

kamui 456 driver head.
The Kamui 456 is, for me, the best driver I've played; better than the Ryoma -- it's longer (conforming), feels better and no less forgiving. I know folks who swear by their Ryoma but head-to-head, i.e. same shaft, grip, set-up, etc, Kamui gets the spot in my bag.
