The Crazy Twins
No worries, I'm happy with them.

The Crazy Twins
No, I was getting inconsistent results. 4-iron was way short, maybe 1.5 irons shorter. 7-iron also short. 6, 8 and PW all ok. 5 and 9 irons inconclusive. It could be the shaft, I heard they had to be 'run in'; not getting the same kick for all the irons. It could also be me. Anyway, I had the lofts checked out and some minor adjustments were made. Lets see how it goes tomorrow.

The Crazy Twins
No doubt they will play great. Like I said, only concerns are the D2 swing weight and rather 'blunt' leading edge of the 52. I've played a round with the 302 actually, but needed to send them back for an overhaul, some weird stuff going on. Going to play the 2nd round tomorrow. If all goes well, I'll post something after that. ;)

Really? I thought it was one of a kind?!

The Crazy Twins
Craig, yeah, I was sorta expecting impeccable attention to details given they're supposed to be top end stuff from a brand like Crazy. Haha. I am trying to convince myself but I'd have to leave my trusty old wedges at home and that could potentially blow up in my face (and wallet) to be fiddling with untried scoring clubs! I might just sneak them in and hit 'unofficial' shots whenever possible. Lets see. ;)

The Crazy Twins
The Crazy Toyoshima wedges arrived today. Some first impressions: I really like the look; really sharp looking, the engraving is subtle and the shape is gorgeous. Feels good in the hands although I'm thinking D2 may be a little light for wedges. Would have liked the leading edge of the 52° to be a little sharper to play better on tight lies, which is where I think I'd be using a 52° more. The milling is hardly noticeable to the eye but felt when you run your fingers on the face. I hope this means max spin without shaving golf balls! Bit of tarnish here and there; not so important since I expect them to get a lot worse! But would have liked a pristine product on arrival. Oh and after being spoilt by Epon, they sport the ugliest ferrules I've ever seen ha! ;) Not sure if I am going to play them tomorrow without having them ranged first. I'll post some after-thoughts if I do.

Royal Collection TRC Utility for 2011
C, is that 200-215 m or yds? How long are you hitting it?

Royal Collection TRC Utility for 2011
Yeah, the sound from the egg is thud-ugly, I admit, but it gives good distance, is quite forgiving and as versatile as a 3-wood gets being able to hit off many different lies. If only it didn't launch so high hmph. IMO, the egg and TRC are completely different clubs for different purposes. Doubt if you could settle for either in your bag. ;)

Weren't you using the Egg Spoon? I thought that was way longer than the TRC by a country mile!

Royal Collection TRC Utility for 2011
After I got over the 'head is heavy' thing, it was business as usual. Straight as an arrow. Though I must say, I have not had a chance to play it from too much trouble, the forest or beach, just shots off the fairway so the rails weren't really called into action. Still, if anything, I think it's only going to be better than other utes/rescues I've used. Very happy with it. :)

Look what came in the mail today!
I wanted graphite weight, length/distance and 'forgiveness', especially on the vibration on mis-hits. Most of the highly rated graphite shafts would give me all of that. But I also wanted steel dispersion, which reduces the choices down to Crazy. I narrowed it down to the LYI , the rest were either too heavy (Evos, Lim Eds) or too light (LYI Light, Super Light), and based on my experience with the LYI driver shafts, it was a no-brainer when I was advised about the LYI Neo really. ;)

Look what came in the mail today!
The Evolutions and Limited Eds are heavier than I'd like. I wanted something in the 70+g range and that meant the Longest Yard Iron shafts. Tario suggested I wait the Neos, I did and here we are.

Some pretty special copper Epons... ;)

Aaah. Again. You and Stew with your slango lingo. Yo!

Look what came in the mail today!
These are not the Evolutions, they're the LYI Neo. They're hot off the oven, not even listed anywhere on Crazy's or TSG's web sites yet. ;)

Aaah. I surely hope so. Waited a while for them. Will post some pics with them fully clothed later. :)

Stew, you are scaring me. What heads coming off? What road? Why? How? *gulp*

Feeling quite special to have a few of these sticks in hand, albeit quite dumb that I don't have any specs or info about them...

Royal Collection TRC Utility for 2011
Yes, I tend to think that a heavier head is better than a light one on a utility/rescue club; it'd restraint a tendency to over-swing, which is the worst thing you can do, even though it's the thing your body/mind wants to do, when trying to get out of trouble! Trust me, I have a lot of experience in trouble ha! That said, it is not just marginally but noticeably weightier. Compared with my other clubs, especially the Egg Spoon on a Crazy FW80 whose head I could barely feel, it's going to taking some conscious adjustments. Anyway, like I said, lets see how it fares this weekend. ;)

Royal Collection TRC Utility for 2011
I got my TRC 20° on a Fubuki last week. Yeah, the head did feel heavy (like a wedge heavy) from just fiddling around with it. It does look like a real quality club and super nice at address -- for once, an ute that did not look like I was going to hook the ball to the parking lot! If it behaves like I think it should and perform on the course, I'd probably get the 26° as well. Alas, I only managed one hit with it before the game was rained out on Sat. It felt nice but being the maiden shot, I think I gave it too much respect and it was only so-so. Lets see how it fares this coming weekend... ;)

Investing in Wedges...help me
Yeah, great post. Now I know when I duff a wedge, it's the club, not me. ;)

HAT
Yeah, I'd have gotten it in a heartbeat except (1) it looks a little too effeminate (or kiddy) and (2) it's stupidly expensive now!!!

HAT
Dang, that is tickling my dog-bag interest again! Woooof.

XXIO Premium vs Pro-V1
Hey, thanks. Are these JDM Pentas or are they the same everywhere?
