^^^ - thanks for the feedback guys. I tried the XXX shafts before the X-line came out so may well give it a go. I was also thinking about trying the Maxima in a lower loft.

Ok, I have put Diamana X X stiff (60g) in Ryoma maxima type D 10.5 deg - I really like the feel of set up and the shaft BUT the spin rate is too high and therefore I am losing distance. I can spank it 280 but it's not consistent and trakman confirmed this. Is the spin rate due to the head or the shaft? Thing is I really like the feel of the shaft. Therefore, any of you bright fellows got any suggestions?

I had the baby blades and they were nice clubs but dig dig in a lot and they felt hard off the face. I then moved to Crazy Ltd edition MB which still are amazing and incredible forgiving. This week I built a set of Miura G CB 1007 Y grinds and shafted them with same Crazy Target tour 120 X in the Crazy's. I chose the Y grind as they are designed for steeper down swings, the sweet spot is slightly towards the heel and the grind means they don't dig in. Early days but I am very impressed with this combo - for some reason the head and shaft combo feels more stable than the crazy heads and flight is lower. The heads are the same size as the crazy too, just that the top and sole are slightly thicker.

Is there such a thing? I like many on here have tried, tested, bought, swapped heads and shafts many a time in that endless search for a driver that looks right, feels right and which produces the results we crave for. Well, today I had a glimpse of Nirvana.... I put my 60g Diamana X X stiff into Ryoma Maxima D2 10.5 degree head and WOW. Amazing results - really nice ball flight, good distance and feel. Best I have built to date, and trust me - I have built a few! Going to do a track man session to see what the data says.

When I back from Iraq I am building one with NO Foam with a new crazy 80 LS Noir 8.2. I am then going to take this, my Ryoma and TRPX onto track man and will publish the results.

I have had Miuras, Yam and Epon. By far the best though are my Crazy Ltd MB - answer all three of your questions hands down. These are married to crazy target tour 120 X. How I mourn for the loss of crazy..... I just so glad I bought another set of heads (thanks spoon) and another set of shafts (thanks T!).

I have just had a putter built by GF and put a heavy (150g) shaft in it. Tario and I had a big discussion on all of this and between us agreed a spec. I have not received it yet but by all means contact T as he has had a go with it and by all accounts says the feel is amazing. He can tell you the spec's. I can give feedback when I back from Iraq in Jan and will be using it. I also think T will be posting some pics/feedback to forum members on this.

It's weird how things pan out. I had a custom driver built by crazy that had an 8.2 LS Noir - I pulled the shaft and put it in 9.5 Ryoma head (first edition) - lovely combo. So I decided to try same shaft in 7.4 flex in my new Epon 3 Wood head..... wow - mega combo and long. What's nice is that now both my driver and 3 wood have the same feel. The endless search for the perfect driver continues though! Thinking of trying the 9.5 Ryoma second edition with 8.2 flex or even stiffer....!

Interesting to read about the heads, but surely the shafts make a difference too? Would be interested to hear what shafts are being used. I game an Epon 3wood (HT) - awesome kit and LONGGGGG - currently have crazy FW shaft in it. Gonna swap the shaft out and try diamana X driver shaft in it - will let you know how I get on.
