Hey Stew, where in Hawaii will you be? If in Oahu, go to the shrimp shack on the north shore named Romy's. Amazing garlic prawns/shrimp. Go across the street and get some fried banana bread. Nice place to go after a rnd at turtle bay.

thanks RIDuffer. So I looked at some heads, some saying 'hi-cor', others saying conforming and you are 100% correct. The loft stamp engraved in the sole is for a conforming model. For hi cor models the loft is painted on and not on the sole plate. thanks so much. Tom

Does anyone know if there are markings on the Kamui Ray that mark it as Hi Cor / non conforming vs a conforming head? thanks
  4. Thanks for the review. What other drivers have been in the bag? Sounds like the s-yard is the longest? How do you rate forgiveness? Thx

Thx WM, Stew. Ok.. pound for pound. You're marrying a driver.. no more stray eyes, hands belong to only one, you get to choose whether it's forgiveness..or length, what do you put in the bag? Ryoma? JBeam 435? WM, you have both with the same shaft, you must have an opinion.. or is this like asking you which child is your favorite. Also.. what's going rate for a used 435 head these days? USD please. thanks.

Thx WM. Have a roddio penta, like it..it's ok. Have an ad bb ..it's ok. Have a di, think I like this shaft the most so far. Have a crazy coming, boron, s1.. Got it as a pull at a good price, but think it might be too soft, we'll see. want to try the quadra tech comp. had a blue board, seemed a bit whippy. Have a whiteboard but it's in a closet in Hawaii, haven't hit it in 2 yrs, like that, goes far. I'd like to try a ad gt..honest truth is I don't know what I'm looking for in a shaft.

Thanks RIduffer. Most important to me is for-length-ness. What should I buy for this? :) I bought a ryoma because of forgiveness (but I haven't hit it because it's in pseudo transit), so I guess if I'm going to spend some coin, I might as well get something that goes long and has some forgiveness. Lets say 70% long, 30% forgiveness. I'm hearing some crazy talk about this s-yard and how it's epon/endo forged and it's got some special suck me in, shoot me out special powers and I'm drooling like a kid in a candy store. I've read about the kp-x and that seems to be last months flavor of the week... the jbeam 435 is on a lot of signatures here and that makes me think I should have it on my signature too. I read what Stew writes, and lets be honest, Stew has everything and likes everything... I can't buy everything Stew likes. Unfortunately, being in the states, it's kinda like "let me buy this and sell it if it doesn't work out". You can see in BST I have a v440 with ad bb.. didn't work out. I'm not quick to pull the trigger.. so I read and read and read and read, then sit on my hands for a couple of months and viola, I have a new driver. I'm finding it enjoyable to be on this forum, my wife, not so much.

Hi my name is Tom and I am a JDM Junkie. I'm so lucky there are no crack houses here for me to get a fix of JDM drivers. I hear Jbeam 435, syard 388, kamui kp-x... Have a Yammy 201 with roddio i like. Have a v440 with ad bb I've broken up with and want out of my house. Have a ryoma with crazy boron two tree coming soon that I'm feigning over... I want long..forgiving.. You have 1 driver to buy not named ryoma, what do you buy?

Thinking about this 388 now. Why so much love for this small head? Can it really be so long.
  10. Thanks guys. The club plays just a hair under 45.5in. Sorry, but I don't know the swingweight. I can run to the golf shop on Tuesday to find out.
  11. Has anyone gotten their hands on one of these Waccine shafts? Overall impression? I've never hit a high high end shaft (crazy, quadra) nor boron. Love to hear some feedback.
  12. For sale, just one item, my personal gamer. Yamaha's 2011 line, the Yamaha v440 powerlength inpresX, 10 deg shafted with the blue bullet - Graphite Design Tour AD BB 6s. Headcover is really ugly, but you get that too. Not much needs to be said about this shaft. I have a Tour AD DI in my other driver and this shaft definitely flies lower. I think the clubs in real real good shape, but I'll let the pictures do the talking. Asking $500 OBO Price drop to $Sold shipped USPS buyer pays shipping. Paypal only. Lots of pics below. There are couple of minor cosmetic issues I want to point out as well. For the $$$s, you should know what you're getting. You can see a little cosmetic issue on the hosel. Clubmaker was reprimanded. Also a little scuff on the bottom of the club.
  13. Stew converted me to Yamaha drivers too! I have a v201 non-tour 10 deg with a hard to find roddio pentacross. Amazing head shaft combo. Great ball flight and never really balloons even when your go hard. This shaft is anti-left and really plays well for some fighting a hook. Only complaint is that I can't draw the ball with this club at all. Just scored a Yamaha v440 powerlength with a tourad BB. Super excited about this club. If all goes well, there might be a v201 in bs&t soon.
