  1. I swap between Srixon and Bridgestone too, but lower down the range. I never found much difference in distance or spin with the more expensive balls.
  2. Gorgeous looking shaft. Just had a look at in the pro shop and noticed new Diamana Thumps (irons/hybrids/fw's) and a new Fubuki V series. All of them look faaaaantastic, especially the Thumps. Fancy the irons/hybrids :)
  3. That sounds like a great combo. Let us know how it goes.
  4. Yes, it's one of the better Callaway drivers. It's there if I need it :)
  5. Hahahaha you cheeky chops ? I'm hoping this stays in the bag a long time......
  6. Finally got this built yesterday. Long story short, my builder couldn't get me one of these shafts from USTmamiya so I had to source one. Looks like they've been discontinued for 2017. USTmamiya told me that the Elements Chrome is a very similar (counterbalanced) design if I need another shaft in the future. I think it looks absolutely stunning. A guy at the builders said "what the hell is that?" Lol. Spec is: Loft: 10*. FA: square. Head weight: 207g. Shaft: USTmamiya Launch Control LL 6F5 tipped 1". Club plays at a length of 44" and a SW of D1.8. Review from the range I went straight to the range from my builders, and took along my TS X-Drive 905 for a 'feel' comparison, and my Cally fti-z for a 'forgiveness' comparison. I had high expectations for this driver/shaft combo. My no.1 goal is accuracy, with some distance following centre strike after centre strike! After not much of a warm up (just couldn't wait ANY longer), my first strike produced a very low launched pull. Low and out of the toe. After a few more swings I was still experiencing a low launch, lower than my 905, so I experimented with changing the tee height which definitely helped. It wasn't as forgiving as the fti-z, and my 905 felt a tad softer off the face but I liked the sound of the jBEAM. More on that later. The jBEAM 'seemed' straighter though. My main problem with the range session yesterday was I just couldn't make out the distance of each drive. They seemed every bit as good as my other two drivers, but I was a little underwhelmed when I left. Admittedly, I was faced with this: Review from the course Now we're talking. I played 9 holes this afternoon, and hit 4 out of 5 fairways. Never been this consistent at this course. Plays over 3600yds. I experimented with a variety of tee heights and there was only the slightest difference in height of ball flight. I always like drivers that you can swing out of your shoes with, and this thing did it with aplomb today. I think it laughed at my swing, kinda saying "is that all you've got" :) Talking of ball-flight, it was very flat and penetrating. Can't wait to get some trackman numbers. I expect less than 2000 spin. I saw a YouTube video by meandmygolf at the TM launch over the past week. They had Dustin Johnson there hitting a few drives (300+ carry). He sets up for a fade, so I thought I'd try one today on a 402yd Par 4 off an elevated tee box. Tee'd it lowish and BOOOOM, leaving me a little 50* wedge to the green; The sound is like hitting a nail with a hammer. A muted thwack. Like a beer can full of cork. The only simile's I've got!! Very excited to see what this driver can do in the summer. Bring it on. The Three Amigos
  7. So good to see there are older guys here in JDM land. All the best, and GLWS.
  8. Thanks Chris. I think they look pretty good. I may have to pick some up in the future, especially now I've heard that they 'feel' soft.
  9. Thanks for the info. So are they cast or forged?
  10. Tested the Devotion HB but it didn't give me the numbers. The Kyoshi HB, now that's a different story. Awesome shaft.
  11. Great bags. How's that Crazy 3w and where did you get that divider?
  12. Hahahaha you read my 'plan'. Yes if the zy works out then I might go all out with a jBEAM fairway and hybrid to match
  13. Yes I checked out your add. The thing that's putting you off put me off too. Plus I think the 'R' looks better, especially in white, which is the way I'd go ?
  14. The only thing I noticed was that they 'seem' to fit my swing. I had a driver shaft fitting recently and narrowed it down to 3 shafts that were all counterbalanced to some degree in their design. I was just wondering if there were any specific models that guys know of from the jdm side of things.
  15. Great set mate. Love the look of the Baldo driver.
  16. Thanks Mags. I have the Fubuki J, and it's an excellent shaft. I was just wondering if there were boutique jdm shafts (Quadra/Crazy/Muziik/Waccine/Syncographite etc) that may have a counterbalanced profile.
  17. Great looking build. Very stealthy. You might want to put your username and date in one or more of your photos, as per the forum rules....... GLWS.
  18. Won't find out until sometime next week when its built. Can't wait.
  19. 10°. My builder likes to see a launch of between 12° and 13°, so I'm hoping for similar launch but maybe a touch lower spin from the jbeam. Always need more distance! Fingers crossed.
  20. Had a shaft fitting this evening, indoors on Trackman 4 at Golf Principles in Basingstoke. Tried lots of wonderful shafts including the new Oban Devotion HB, Fujikura Speeder Pro xlr8 and Tensei white. Heads used for testing were a mixture of TM M1, Cally sub zero, Titty 917 and King Ltd pro. The shafts that gave me the best numbers with were: Oban Kyoshi HB 75 05 (King Ltd). UST Launch Control LL 6F5 (M1). Attas 4u 6x (M1). So my zy-11 will be having a UST Launch Control LL 6F5 and a white gp tour wrap, built at 44" and D2. WHITEOUT! I was soooo impressed with this shaft, having never really known about it before. I tested it at 43 and 3/4" and it produced the best numbers of all, which were; Launch 12.5°. Spin 2000. Head speed 104mph. Distance 275yds. Great control with lovely feel. The other 2 felt ever so slightly better, particularly the Oban HB, but at 3 times the price of the UST without producing better numbers it was an easy desicion. I love doing this ?
