Has anyone put one of these in to play, ideally in a FW? I want to lower the ballflight of my Yamaha i.f.f 5w and 7w and also my bad shot with these is high and left. Shaft is stock 's' flex ATM. Either a couple of 72x or a combo of 72x and 82x will be played at 41 1/2" and 41" respectively. I can't cover the cost of the new 'W' series, so these (or similar) oldies will have to do. My fav FW shaft is Kaili, but I fancy a change..... What do you guys think?

I have a set of these. Mine are D4/D5 swingweight shafted with Roddio I-10 in 'SX' flex. I should have posted a review, but what I can tell you is that they are great at punch shots, (PW/9i especially) with a nice solid thump through the ball. Maybe these are a great 'diggers' iron. I bought them hoping that they would give me a nice soft feel from full shots but I'm not feeling that at the moment, but this is probably the flex of the shaft more than anything. Comparing to Yamaha 2011 Tours, these are slightly longer with a little bit more offset, a smidge thicker top line and sole. Lovely satin finish.

Hello and welcome. Glad to have someone else from the UK on here. So these iron heads are 30 years old. Did I read that correct? I can't see what benefit you'd have in trying to re-shaft and then sell these on to someone else. I doubt you'd make much money from the sale, taking in to account the new shafts and install, plus the new owner is getting a set of clubs that are way behind in golf technology, new shafts or not. I might be wrong though :)

If the ballflight as just too high, and you get no joy from changing the weights around, either put a Kai'li in for mid flight or an Ahina for lower flight. :)

Did you have the shaft extended? Was the shaft tipped to play in a FW before you installed it in your driver? I want to play my next driver at 44". The head will be heavy at around 210g. Would love to try a FW shaft that played 43" and just have it extended an inch.
