Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn
Miuramaniac replied to wmclarenf1's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearYeah, I agree Swiss, good for them. Hopefully a finely-tuned athlete can keep him more interested than models and bimbos. Maybe not a fan of some of his actions, but pro golf is a lot more exciting when he's on his game. Can't wait for this afternoon. He's the only guy around that has consistently shown "greatness". Never know what he and Rory are gonna pull out of their arse next. Luke Donald....zzzzzzzzz.

I can easily believe these numbers. I've seen some pro athletes at my club, some of whom are not really very good golfers, that have massive power. Hockey and baseball players especially. Strength helps some if used properly, but the rotational speed that hockey and baseball players have translates perfectly to golf. Even pitchers have huge rotational speed and strength. They call it arm strength in baseball, but if that were the case, Hulk Hogan would throw 200mph, and Ron Guidry would have thrown puffballs. It's rotation that hums a fastball. OP, weren't/aren't you a pitcher?

Anyone tried the 2013 Yamaha RMX Driver?
Haven't hit but almost made this same post yesterday. Great-looking driver. I don't really care about the adjustability, though. It'd be cool to have this with a few different shafts (assuming the head was great) to play on different days for diff conditions/courses. Of course, you could just be like everyone in here and have 6-8 drivers instead. lol

S-Yard GT & XT irons and Golf bag
The irons, meh. But I'll take one of those bags in blue and white, please. And I'll pay a little extra if that gal in your avatar delivers it!

Oh, My..........S-Yard T.388
Alright, you guys talked me into getting one. Stock shaft. Gonna take a lot to get the '12 Yamaha Tour driver a spot at the retirement home. Hope I'm not disappointed.

TourStage 2013 - Japan Golf Fair
OK, I'll take a combo set of the 909 MB's from 7-PW and MC's from 4-6. And a couple of those wedges in 52/8 and 58/12. All with Modus 3 shafts. And that 21* hybrid with steel. And that 3-wood, 5-wood and 709 driver in 430, all with Tour AD GT shafts. And put them all in that white bag in the last pic. But I've already got a putter... Oh, and a carton of those balls in yellow, maybe a mix of the 2. Check's in the mail.

TM R11S vs. Yamaha Tour Driver
Could any two drivers feel different? Took my R11S that I bought cuz of a wild hair and hit it with my Yammy Tour driver. Results: not that different in how they swung and ball flight. Sound and feel: Whoa!! That R11S feels horrible and sounds worse. There's a gun range down the street from where I was hitting balls (78* today, haha) and I guarantee they could hear me hitting that thing as well as I could hear them. It's going back in the back of the closet. I'll get it out and tee it up and give it a whack if I hear someone breaking into my house. Guarantee that'll send him running for his life. The Yamaha is sheer bliss. Soft and pure and you can just feel the ball on the face almost forever. Like a favorite girlfriend, sometimes you just gotta hit sumpn' really bad to appreciate what you have. Sorry for the wandering eye, Yammy...

Iomic grips
Yeah, that's what I figured. The Nowons are SUPER tacky, guys at my range that clean your clubs after you use them always comment on how great they feel. But you're right; hell, I prolly spend $500 a year replacing those things! The right thumb area wears in no time. Ahhhh, but that feel!!
-
Iomic grips
I love the Nowon No. 1's but they need replacing every few weeks if you hit 'em a lot. Are the Iomic Stickies as tacky? I've tried one or two of them (not the stickies I don't think) and those weren't nearly as tacky as the Nowons.

New blades, but which ones
Aren't the SB-01's and the LE 1957 blades (baby blades) the same thing? Same exact sizes, maybe a different grind? I've thought about pulling the trigger on the SB-02's, just can't get around all the stamping and one of the guys at TSG said they won't do it any differently.
-
New blades, but which ones
There's that fantastic post from Ari about the different Miura sizes. I wish I knew somebody that has owned or played those SB-02's besides a 25-cap. They look identical to the Baby Blade/SB-01 but just a hair larger. Same square and sharp toe, love that shape! The MB-5003 and Tournament Blade are identical except for sole grind?
-
New blades, but which ones
What about the Miuraism SB-01's? Expensive, but everything you want. Teeny head, virtually no offset, razor-thin top line. They supposedly use their best materials for these. And if they feel better than the Baby Blades, which are the exact same spec's, they should be as good as anything anywhere.

Battle for the Bag. Decision 2013: Forged Iron Shootout (New Pics 2/15)
That was a good one, Beer. lol BTW, I just got some of those non-offset Miura PP-9003's shafted up and hit 'em once so far. Really nice. Hated the originals cuz of the offset, which you also didn't like, and they look MUCH better. Pretty easy to hit as well. My game's been really bad so the Baby Blades are gonna see some down time.

Japan Golf Fair 2013 Day 1
Something about short skirts and thigh-high boots packed with slim legs renders me completely disinterested in golf clubs. But those Fourteen irons did manage to catch my attention.

Battle for the Bag. Decision 2013: Forged Iron Shootout (New Pics 2/15)
Great write-up, thanks. But all I can think of when I see those Personals is that a baby is about to pop out any minute.

suggestions for a player's cb with NO offset
That looks like the illegitimate child of that shank-proof wedge (the Alien?) and those adjustable irons from the 70's. Any one remember those? A whole set of irons in one club where you could unscrew it and adjust the loft from wedge to 3-iron.
-
kamui pro VS epon zero VS crazy 435
You like those better than the Yamaha Tour drivers, either 2012 or 2013?
-
The Personals took me by surprise
I had some AF-Tours and 301's and both had too much offset for what they were IMO. Never could get along with them because of that. Other than that they were really nice. Maybe just one or two designs with little or no offset?

Anyone using steel in Utilities? (2013 Yamaha)
I've always used steel, usually the NS Pro 95 or 100 or whatever it is, but I guess you prob knew that. I like it over any graphite, better feel and dispersion, not to mention it's usually shorter in length than its graphite counterpart. Some of those utes with graphite just get way too damn long! Oh, and I got the 2013 Yammy 21*, but haven't hit it much yet. Just had another surgery on another finger for tendonitis. How's the 18*?

Are the new Mizuno MP-64's available for custom order from Yoro Craft?
The problem with hybrids these days, or even "driving iron" style hybrids is that they are so damn long. Usually an inch or so longer than the club they would replace. 40-41" long irons? No thanks...

Blade, Muscle Back or Cavity Back - best feel
Well IMO best and most pure is separate from softest. Miura small blades to me are the "best" and "purest" feeling clubs I've hit. Very small and dense with a lot of meat behind the ball. Softest, I don't know. Epon 302's are about as soft as any club I've hit, so I think cavities can be as soft as anything. I've hit some clubs that are really soft, but also hollow-feeling. So soft and best and purest are really at least 2 and maybe 3 questions.
-
Are the new Mizuno MP-64's available for custom order from Yoro Craft?
Yes. They told me MP-64 was available for custom. But that the MP H4 wasn't. Thought I might try a blend of 64's and H4's for the 3 and 4-iron. Maybe even MP-69's in the 9 and PW.

Hi COR drivers
So I'm not getting any younger (old enough to be on senior tour, not NEAR good enough) and I was thinking about getting a "cheater" driver. What do I care, most guys don't really play by all the rules anyway, right? :) So which one is the "best"? By that I mean longest, but not offset, 12* loft or gold or cheesy graphics all over it. I still like simple (looking) stuff but wouldn't mind 10-20 extra yards. Haven't tried any of these new super high-end shafts, that's probably help some too, but is there anywhere near a consensus in what the best combo of setting up square, looks, feel, and distance?
