Hi Serge. As Ed pointed out it will have allot to do with shaft length and flex, kick closed or lag open. Too much droop. I think once you establish the the correct shaft then you will know how the head reacts with your swing and weather a closed set up works for you. So many variables lead to different results, closed is considered as draw bias at the end of the day. If you can control that all things being equal you are on the right track. Just remember a bad shot is a bad shot no matter what the club tendency is, but if you know your bad shot then that is a good start. When I have used 1* closed in the past I tended to push the hands forward before swing started with club face (top line) slightly open, seemed to reduce the loft and give me a consistent draw.

I think that is insane in a good way Mikey, what happens if it out performs the big stick lol There might end up too big a gap for the next club down, I can see a whole set of 7Ds happening here ;)

Ok so shimada SP series. Jeff makes a good point, I have done similar with the wedges and gone slightly heavier SPO, I was tempted to go blue in the wedges, Orange in the shorts and red in the longs, If the P1s were bit weightier I would have done that. Cant go wrong with the SP series as they make a good combo set. Shimada have always been a difficult one for me, had them fitted so many times and just never fell in love with them. I find the tour lights need a real smooth tempo so not so keen on those for me. The tours on the other hand do have the versatility of suiting different styles and hold up when you pull the trigger, not as good as the SPB in that regard though. They are both great shafts and very direct but the Shimada are a bit higher in loft IMO. Feel of the shimada tour is bit better than the SPB but splitting hairs really. I found the tours to be bit skiddy some times...meaning the od shot in the scoring irons would shoot out very low when expecting a nice high ball flight, generally happened when I tried to squeeze bit more out. Also say the shimada tour have bit more spin in the short irons. This is only one mans opinion, but I don't think you can go wrong with either. My favourite Shimada shaft is the 7001, great feel, superb flight best all round for me. Have these in my SUS now and are a good fit. Hope this helps

Just on me way out the door but will chime in latter. Stew has it in a nutshell. Would say designed for different tempo/transition though. Hence the difference in hight opinions. SPB felt bit heavy for me. gone SPR in the P1s as lighter head and have a nice feel, reaction and flight in those. SPO are also very good and stable. Nice weight. Can give you compo in the SUS as tested both SPB and SPO in that head. I shall return :)

May have been a knee jerk reaction when a flaw was spotted, can be disappointing when you are excited and expectations are high. I see this as a communication problem and hope all can be resolved fellas and this is just a storm in a teacup.

As pointed out very good for the non tour model, probably the best, also my first set of yammys. Forgiving and long. Best year was 2012 IMO for the tour model.

Have some nice black and gold woven ferrules here that cost me an arm and a leg that are too small for most heads...necks....(outer diameter) Hope they fit these heads.
