  1. That ferrule. I would hate to lose that swapping shafts.
  2. Good thing about buying used is if you decide to sell them you can usually get most of your money back. At least that's my experience with watches.
  3. the stiff version is only 58g... that's super light. wow.
  4. It's probably just camera angle and the quality of strike - and I wish i could have either trajectory, my ball would be so high almost out of frame - but I though the trajectory with the foam installed driver was more desirable.
  5. The hot melting is used to had weight. its a glue that's like tree sap and remains pliable. But those foam beads.. I don't think he added more than a tablespoon worth. I can't imagine it weighed much at all.
  6. I'm pretty sure this foam addition was an at home modification. Hot Melting is a process available by some professional club makers. Hot melting does the same kind of thing.
  7. The sound the club face makes has a big effect on how a club feels. Saw these videos today of some JDM drivers that were filled with foam beads. Personally I like the deadened sound, especially with the Crazy435 TRPX S-013 without foam TRPX S-013 filling head with foam TRPX S-013 Sound with foam On The Screw with foam Crazy435 with foam There are a few others.
  8. I'd love to hear how it sounds. #Bringbacktheyoutubechannel
  9. Will Shingo be at Pinehurst this June?
  10. That's a good idea.
  11. Me too. I would definitely play it with a 3 iron. It's just too cumbersome to have 5, up to 6 clubs in my bag with a head cover.
  12. If OnOff at least made a 4 iron..

I'm looking for the set with Dynamic Gold S200 or S300.
  14. What store in Monterey carries Epon? My ears just perked up
  15. Welcome. From what I've read and seen a 'Tour' Cavity back is going to be in line with irons like the JPX pro and Ping i25. Some to consider Yamaha RMX CB Tour, Maruman ProX CB. There is a lot of good information in this forum. Especially this thread. http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/topic/36532-tsg-2014-jdm-cavity-back-poll/

Not to hijack the thread, but where can you try these clubs out, in america, before buying them? do you buy them on reputation? try them trade shows?
  17. Appreciate it. That would be ideal, but only club maker I know in Monterey is at GolfMart and there isn't anyone there I would let work on my clubs. And everything inside the gates is overpriced All the American MP sets are the same loft and marketed as interchangeable for a combo set. There must be something in it.
  18. I wish the 2014 vokey cold forged still offered the M grind.
  19. I tried out an old beryllium copper Hogan wedge someone wanted to trade to me. If there's ever such a thing as too much spin... that wedge produced it.
  20. I'm looking to get a set of Yoro Craft MP54 3-7/MP64 and/or MP4 8-pw The problem is that the mp54 have strong lofts, unlike the american version, and to avoid a 6 degree gap between clubs, or avoid having two 7 irons I was thinking of weakening the lofts of the 54s 1 deg and strengthening the 64s 1 deg.. My concern is that adjusting the lofts will negatively affect the bounce. The reason i don't just get a full set of MP54s is because there is two 5 degree gaps in the JDM set, and 9 and PW have too much cavity for my preference. It wouldn't be good to have a set of Yoro Craft irons only to have their performance diminished because of an improper bounce angle. Any insight is much appreciated
  21. Hi. Lived on the Monterey Peninsula all my life, but have never played Pebble Beach. I got into Japanese clubs when my golf instructor suggested by buy a set of early 90s Maruman Conductor woods that were on ebay. I did, and used them up until last year when I bought the 2008 Conductors still in new condition off the rack. I'm in the market for new irons, wedges, and possibly a putter. My swing speed has increased in the last few months so I need to get fit, but a lot of what I'm looking at my local fitters don't carry. Most of what I'm looking at is on TourSpecGolf. Looking forward to everyone's insight.
