  1. Yup it plays stout but stiff should go well with a 98mph swing. I've used an X with good results in the past and I should be using an S.
  2. We have been testing the DB forged for almost 2 months now. It's an outstanding wedge no doubt in the top 5 of whats available in japan right now. Could be top 3...
  3. Yup birchwood casey super blue, It will scuff after a shot or two but if done properly with cold water and steel wool it can make an old club look quite nice. I used to do a lot of it then stopped as it wears quicker than an OEM treatment.
  4. wow thats some serious shaftage yes please let us know what you think.
  5. These can go head to head against any. I'm loving these.
  6. I would say forget about the re-groove. get yourself a new set of irons the V7000's are very old.
  7. Dale the 901's are known for great distance, I've played them a long time with steel and graphite. I think steel was better for me. It's gotta real hot feel off the face, goes a long way. I now days replace a 4i (905CB) with a Srixon #4. Similar loft but the 901 was a lot longer.
  8. your irons look stunning. is that a smoked out shaft?
  9. Yes CB and PB are both Endo Made. I can only guess that the MB is made by Zodia because they didn't need to produce thousands of sets.
  10. Yup wmc, you are one of the early adopters of Epon! The technity is still my favorite Epon wedge, even over the 208/210. It's just good feeling and straight forward pure. I think it matches the AF302 better than their current wedge.
  11. Same here, have a Noir in a Crazy head and it's dead straight with a high launch for me. Loads of Carry little run. It's in the AF152 btw. I love the active feel it has.
  12. I just put this into play and found little use for it. I still use the Egg Spoon off the deck, I did a small shoot out between the two off the fairway and I make poor contact with the larger headed 11.5 (stock shaft). Very low, little carry, and lots of run. Something about the contact I make with the 11.5 that doesn't suit me. Off the T it's setup is outstanding! I can hit very accurate low drives with a small fade. It's for sure better than my driver into the wind. On extremely tight holes it's the key but for normal driving holes and long fairway shots this club has little use in the bag. I would love the club if everyday was windy.
  13. Wanted to post some pics of the Endo Forged CB. I haven't posted anything on the Forged PB iron yet and will do this week. MB = Better Player CB = Better Player looking for a good amount of forgiveness PB = Average Player looking for an Endo Forged forgiving cavity
  14. Wondering if anyone can help me on this. We have sold a ton of Akira Tour wedges in the last 2 days. Anyone know what's going on to spark this?
  15. What's the issue your having? I don't follow bounce angles on irons at all to be honest but if digging into turf is your issue or you play in softer conditions there are different shaped soles I can recommend.
  16. While I'm not the biggest fan of the entire line up or how it's laid out (a bit confusing) there are a few that stand out big time. The M209 driver, M series fairway woods are a must try, the KS201 irons are the best Cast club I have ever hit. The wedges are fine especially the H2 if your a better player BUT the design has been done before many times so it's nothing new but still decent. The thing that makes people play the wedges is that they teeter on the line of being legal and illigal groove sharpness. Akira wedges and Kenmochi have some of the most spin in today's conforming wedges.
  17. I'm a 5-PW guy with usually a couple of driving irons.
  18. Very familiar with the Kai'li shaft and the i'lima. As far as a semi affordable shaft goes the i'lima in a deep faced fairway wood excels but also check out the Tour AD DJ series. The Kai'li is an excellent shaft in drivers and FW's as well. The TSG testers and I have been hitting all the Akira gear with Kai'li and we all agree it's top notch. All that said, finding a Crazy that fit's you is bliss. Shockingly better but you are paying top dollar for it. Quadra FE shafts IMO provide amazing results but as far as blowing the roof off of previous distances or being in new places on the course I must go with Crazy. I say go Crazy if you can afford it, Quadra next, and Diamana then Tour AD.
  19. Sorry for the late response. I personally would go Kamui over the Yonex. PRGR id 395cc is a gem as well, made by Endo.
  20. I was looking at the Darrell Survey and noticed something interesting. KJ Choi had two Akira Clubs in the bag at the U.S Open. The Akira M114 Fairway Wood #3 with Ozik Radix Shaft & The Akira M120 Hybrid wotj Pzol XCON 8M2.
  21. Not made by Endo. Only the TC1000 is Endo forged of the current Fourteen line up.
  22. Hey C, Me thinks that is a great idea. I often enjoy NS950 in my hybrid's for that very same reason. tight mid trajectory that doesn't get me in trouble.
  23. Another one to try is the PRGR id series and not the C version. check it out iD is their new top end line.
