Ive heard it both ways but here is my sketchy take on this: One of my thoughts: Torque really plays different based on the way the shaft is designed and made. For most of my golfing years i thought 3 was to much, then 3.5 now 4.3 isn't out of the question. Not sure if my reasoning is valid but it seems to me that if its the proper weight and flex and its got a nice bend profile that aids your swing then your set. 1.7 torque or 4.3. I have had some master shaft makers and fitters tell me not to pay attention to the Torque numbers so much. It sorta makes a little sense to me but I'm just not sure. My other take: The head is not coming around for a slicer or they are coming over the top in many cases and this tells me torque "rotational force" would help. It just makes simple sense. The less Torque the less it will twist. So those imo are the two side to the story. Not sure how you guy feel about it but most golfers cant tell the difference if you told them otherwise.

1 million in damaged goods + Investor pulls 2-3 million due to damaged goods delay = No product and No money! G-Field was Gauge Design. Its not two seperate brands. Thats enough thread jacking, this thread is about top lines.

Wanted ANY Fujikura HM-4 Counter Ballanced shafts!
TourSpecGolfer replied to fairwayfinder's topic in Buy, Sell, & Trade
Have you tried counter balance with balance certified. -
Let us know how it goes on these graphite shafts! I may try the same myself but i have worries about my distance gaps shifting +/- 5-10 yards. How is feel? ease of use? dispersion compared to a steel shaft.

Best 3 wood for what I need (Japanese Brands Only)
TourSpecGolfer replied to PGAPro's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
They are good irons, to much offset for most, but its not a bother to me. I have tested just about every driver in both the Japanese and U.S market. My personal collection of golf clubs always stays updated with the latest product that has been tweaked after market for my pleasure. IMO nothing compares to the EPON 460 for me, X-Drive with the same shaft went about 10 yards shorter, perhaps my 100mph swing speed doesn't take advantage of its spin rates or simply the EPON is hotter. This new JPX driver, very easy to hit, but I cant tell the difference between any of these so called high moi drivers except they are ugly and usually feel pretty crappy. The first 20-40 shots people actually think a high moi driver makes a large difference. After that the honey moon goes bye bye and your left with another driver that needs tweaking or mental revamp. USGA has us max'd out. Good players are looking for amazing feel, higher ball speeds, a custom face angle and options. Thats what Epon gives its customer. No other brand or factory will do this for the public. To compare my new JPX irons to the TYPE J's i still play, they are very similar but the JPX is just easier to hit, feel is close but the Type J has the edge in that category. -
There are G-Field clubs in the post above. But G-Field Japan, Gauge Design Japan, Gauge Design USA, all of these companies are dead in the water. The only two surviving offspring of this brand is Romaro Putters, and Golds Factory.

Best 3 wood for what I need (Japanese Brands Only)
TourSpecGolfer replied to PGAPro's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Many JDM brands are made in China, It comes down to several things: 1. Japan Industry Standard Materials ( highest quality is 1020 double forged, Endo has its large factory in Thailand but they send over J.I.S steel to that location ) 2. Price Point vs Design ( even china vs china made drivers are better in Japan. Price point allows many new experiments or technologies to be used where as in the USA due to lower cost the product its budget technology. 299 is average price of a driver in America, 800 is the average in Japan. This goes into irons and their tungsten forged inserts and complicated tooling cavity design. imagine how much more you can put into an 800 driver. 3. Quality Control and Manufacturing technique ( yes China has rapid prototyping, C.O.R testing machines etc.. but Japans got all that and next gen versions. Japan has a long tradition of process improvement, or "kaisan." The Japanese are experts at incrementally improving manufacturing methods and processes to ultimate perfection ) Its more difficult for large U.S brands, they cant produce small runs, its not worth their marketing buck or time. They have to produce cost effective yet performing golf clubs to satisfy the budget golfer in the U.S. Remember that golf is a very affordable sport in America compared to other places. Much of the clubs in China are produced with recycled Titanium from Russian weapons to save $$$. Japan is world known to make the highest quality Titanium and Steel, Also the surface treatment done to Ti leaves china in the dust. I look at it this way, If I were baking a cake, i would want the best flour, eggs, sugar, and ingredients i could get. When thinking about a home, a sturdy frame with the latest technology and best materials are my interest. I feel the same way about auto's, clothing, and everything else. TSG'ers for the most part desire something better, something better designed and made. Also if OEMs are making their retail product in one place, and the worlds best players clubs in another, it says a lot and I think its only natural to want your clubs made where Tiger's & Phils are made. -
It is the latest version they have along with yellow black and red.

Yururi Jersey Wedge, What finish do you like?
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
This is a prototype wedge, its officially named the SEIDA or Football wedge. I call it the Jersey wedge, official name to come soon. The milling was done twice and the retail will only be milled once and far deeper like below: These are made of S5C also known as 1005C super soft forged steel. They found this way to soft and will produce the retail version in S12C. -
This is the one that everyone wants. Sold out.

Japanese Drivers better than American ??
TourSpecGolfer replied to Browntollio's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
American as in? As far as I know its all made in China. The good Japanese drivers usually have a slightly higher ball speed, depending on design and material the feel is enhanced too. That said it doesn't take a JDM driver to shoot low scores, still gotta have the swing. The USGA has everything max'd out so dont expect major distance gains from anything on any side of the pond. -
