Longest most forgiving driver
I'd be trying to even up our advantages. While I am outdriving him, he has a better short game. Thanks for the replies so far. I'd probably go with a high cor TM driver from Japan or a Japan only Tourstage driver. As for the Maru being least forgiving, that's the reason its for sale... :wah: Vincent

Longest most forgiving driver
What are your recomendations for the longest most forgiving driver? Doesn't have to meet COR requirements. My father-in-law is from Japan, and everytime he comes over to play golf, he brings his own clubs. The driver is, iirc, a high cor TM. Maybe an R580XD. I'm still out driving him but just want to even up the field a little. TIA Vincent

FAKES...FAKES...and more FAKES... w/PICS!!
Wow.. some of them are very close to original. The Titleist stuff esp look very real. The R580 is very close too. Scary.

What is the best Tourstage driver?
No.. u were right. After thinking about it, I remember now how disappointed I was when I saw the head looked close even though the specs said square. That was why I went with the Maru which was listed as 1 deg open but looked square to my eyes.

What is the best Tourstage driver?
Iirc, the 350 had a 0.5 deg closed face from the catalog I saw. It definitely looked like a close face.

What is the best Tourstage driver?
Playing a MR23 US Drive Maru Spec right now.. and it is a BITCH!!! But when you pure one... its really rewarding. Its just hard to hit it perfectly. Right now, I'm leaving everything high right so that's not quite the driver for me right now. I'm about to give up on it. Going to try a retail BIG (read 460cc) domestic driver just to be able to play a respectable game right now. I've hit the Xdrive 350 and I can't stand the closed face look which is what I like about Maru Spec which has an 1 deg open face but looks square.

FS Tourstage MR23 US Spec (cb) 3-pw w/Project X 5.5 PICS
Hate to do this but can't afford to keep 2 sets of irons right now. 3-pw Tourstage MR23 US Spec which is the cb. I would rate these as 7.5 - 8 / 10. They definitely have been played. The usual dings on the sole and some bag chatter on the backs. I have pictures of everything but the backs of the 3-6 irons, battery on my camera ran out before I could get those. But if you want them, I will be able to get them tomorrow. Faces are in great condition, some small dings on the leading edeges of a few of the clubs. Project X 5.5 shafts built to standard Tourstage Japan specs, which is 1/2" shorter than standard US specs iirc. Loft and lies were checed last week. Asking $550 shipped and paypaled. OR Trades I'd be looking for are higher launch drivers, so either an R7 in a 10.5 or a 580xd in a 8.5-9 etc. Playing a Maru right now but it seems to be too low launching for me at 8.5, I'm doing an experiment with a shaft right now but always nice to have alternatives. Tour AD shaft specs - Update
In a fit of frustration, I had the Tour AD pulled and installed a Fujikura 652 S in it at 45". Swingweight actually went up to D5 from a D4 cuz the installer zoned out and cut it at 45" instead of 44.75". I decided to keep it at 45" and try it out at the range the next day. Instant change!!! I can now turn the ball over with ease, occasionally turning it over too much and hitting a big hook instead :yuk: But I've gained a lot more confidence in the driver now that I can hit a draw or hit it straight. The 652 has the same tip flex as a 757 but higher torque. That makes the club much smoother so it doesn't feel like a D5 at all. Lovin it so far... BUT... I'm now on the hunt for the perfect shaft for this head.

Irons
Another vote for the MP32s. Coming from a set of MR23 CBs, the MP32s are even more forgiving for me :surprize: They hit a lower ball than MR23s but I'm going to switch the DG S300s out for PX 6.0s later as I like the ball flight and the feel of PX then DGs. PXs launch higher but levels off lower than DGs and generates a little more spin for me. Top line is a little thicker than I like for blades but not overly so. The heads look big but are actually only slightly bigger than the MR23s. Distancewise, I hit it as long or longer than my MR23s and the feel is just as soft but they also tell you where you missed. Lots of feedback without jarring your hands on every little mis**t. The only complaint I have on the MP32s is the way the weighting is setup. Mizuno has always designed for a fade, sweetspot is just in front of the hosel. So I really have to work hard to hit a draw which is the shot shape I prefer. But they will hit straight or a nice fade for me easily. I think these are going to stay in my bag for a while.

Tour AD shaft specs - Update
I love the driver. I just need to figure out a shaft that will make the head turn over more. Right now, I have to work too hard to make it go straight, lets not talk about a draw... If I can find a shaft that can do that, this driver will be in my bag for a looooong time.. I've tried the TM drivers, R500, R510DF but they all seem hollow and sound very tingy to me. The Maru has a solid feel and sounds like a persimon wood. Been wondering if I should pick up an R7 to try but I feel like there is so much hype around the TM drivers plus this time next year, there would probably be a newer TM TOUR driver out again... :o Anyone have a shaft recomendation for me? I'd like to bring the swingweight down a bit (its at D5 right now) and lengthen it to 44.5" from the 43.5" stock length.

Tour AD shaft specs - Update
The funny thing is on the 300S II, I have a 757 S which is 2.5 torque but I can close the face just fine on it. Plus, the Tour AD is mid bend while the 757 is mid high. Face angle on the MR23 is supposed to be 1deg open but looks as square as the 300S II.

Tour AD shaft specs - Update
Does anyone have the specs on the Tour AD that comes stock in the Tourstage MR23 US Drive Maru Spec? I'm having a tough time closing the face on it. My misses are big pushes. By comparison, my normal shot shape with a 300SII / 757 S is a high draw. Swing speed is in the low 100s.

Blade Irons...Opinions needed!!
Never played Titlest irons before, but the 1 set I tried felt very harsh as compared to similar offerings from Mizuno or Tourstage. The Srixions look SWEEEEET!!!! Very narrow sole though. Definitely a player's club. Never used them on a course either, just demoed a 6 iron. Very soft but not very forgiving on mis**ts. MP33s feel more forgiving. I just switched to MP32s from a set of Tourstage MR23 US Specs (cbs). The MP32s are more forgiving and feel softer. They feel even more forgiving then the MP30s I had before the MR23s. With toe hits, I get a low draw, sweet spot is still inside towards the heel which promotes a fade. I'm told that is the shot shape Mizuno engineers design for. I can still hit a draw if I setup right. I'm gonna special order a set with PX 6.5s soft stepped once D4 swingweight this coming month. Can't wait.
