WTB Epon satin finish X wedges 52 & 58
I've got two and really am not interested in selling, but for $200 each I'd let 'em go. I know that sounds WAY high for a wedge, but there were only a limited number made and no more left on the market. As with all my used equipment, they have very little wear and to the casual observer look new.

epon type x?
Yes, I would say so. Maybe a tad smaller. I had a set of NC1's myself and these fit my eye just fine.

r7 forged or Type J or Type X
I'm (ashamed to say that) I am probably one of the few on this board who has owned all three. I currently play the Epon Type X and feel that this club/design really suits my game the best (13 handicap). I naturally prefer the look of a players blade or CB and have owned many, including the 2006 Tourstage X blade and CB as well as several of the Gauge Design offerings along with Miura CB's, etc. etc. I just posted a short review of the Type X after one round's use (Iron reviews). In short, these clubs seem to provide the forgiveness along with a unique feel/sound combination that is pleasing and effective. Of the three I would say that the R7 forged are probably the least forgiving. I liked the J's and probably could get by playing them (I am a decent ball striker) but I don't like to practice much and thus swing to the side of having the most possible forgiveness without buying a set of shovels. I don't know your game, your practice habits, etc. so it is impossible for me to make a recomendation. They're all three good clubs. For me, I am trying to swallow my pride and desire to play those shiny new Fourteen blades (for example) for something that I can reasonably expect reliable results.

Any Epon owners using the stock Drev shaft?
Works just fine for me. I am a low 90's swingspeed, smooth swinger and use the "S" flex DREV

Taylormade R7 Forged Limited Iron w/Pics!
I will have to say that I agree with Chris's assessment of these irons. I've played four rounds with mine and am very satisfied. My set has the NSPRO 950's and they seem to suit me just fine. Interestingly enough, some of the best shots I've hit with these were #3 irons! They are just class to me.....not alot of gaudy lettering or other showy "stuff" that Taylor Made seems to think necessary for irons to sell in the US market.

Lennie's bag
Thanks for those kind words.............I think these are about the same as the Epons and perhaps a bit smaller than the NC1's. Definitely not midsize by any stretch, but certainly not a "butter blade" either.

Received my R7 irons yesterday. Can't wait to give them a try. Have a R7 460 on the way with an NV shaft. I received the 5 wood and putter head cover with the iron order. The single photo is of the putter head cover. Very cool covers available from Japan.

Taylormade R7 Forged Limited Iron w/Pics!
That's incredible. It just goes to show you that the majority of people working in golf shops do not have a clue about what's out there in the real world. They don't take the time to learn anything about their industry. I have yet to find more than a handful of people in my 20+ years of being an equipment enthusiast ANYONE in a pro shop or retail store that knows any more (and most often much less) about golf equipment than I. Besides, anyone with a computer can go to Taylormade's Japan website and see that they are the real deal!

EPON: The Best Forged Steel ENDO has Ever Produced!
Pretty much on Chris's recomendation. They appear to be similar to Dynamic Gold, maybe a little stiffer in R flex than Dynamic Gold. I like them just fine based on the few shots that I hit yesterday.

EPON: The Best Forged Steel ENDO has Ever Produced!
Here's a few pictures of my Epon bag, consisting of "J" irons 3-PW, 52 and 58 degree wedges, 415 driver, and 3 & 5 woods. Putter is a Zomo Z-zero. I rec'd the irons and FW's yesterday and was able to get in 9 holes with them. I'll echo Chris's comments about the irons............they are very nice and I will admit to being smitten immediately by the look and feel. For me, they setup beautifully and performed well. I ordered them 1 degree up and swingweighted D-2/D-3 with the Shimada AC-10 shafts in regular flex. I actually like the "muted" sound/feel of the FW's and hit them well, particularly the 3 wood off the tee on a short par 4. The DREV stiff shafts in the FW's play a little stiffer than the stiff shaft in the driver.

EPON: The Best Forged Steel ENDO has Ever Produced!
Received my Epon 415 driver and wedges (52 & 58) yesterday. The driver is very impressive. I'm not sure I've ever felt that soft a feeling at impact, and it was clearly longer than my TM R7 425. Granted, the loft on the Epon is 9.5 whereas the loft of the TM is 10.5. I played 18 holes with the TM yesterday morning and had one of the best ball striking days of my life. I picked up the Epons at lunchtime from my office, came back out and played 9 more with the Epon driver and wedges in place of my TM driver and Gauge wedges. The Epon driver was an average of 10 yards longer than the TM on a day when I was hitting my best drives. On the 9th hole at my course (370 yard par 4), I hit one of my best drives of the day with the TM driver and had a little less than 150 to the center of the green. In the afternoon with the Epon on the same hole I had 120 to the green. The wedges were no less impressive. I like the size and especially the weighting. The finish I fell in love with immediately. I've never owned anything other than a chrome or satin finish wedge. This one is a stunner. I can't wait to get the J irons and the FW's.
