I've always liked the look of the NV Series...Angular on the sole, but fairly traditional shape on the crown. What color is the NV2? Same dark blue?

Domestically, I was also considering the Tour Edge Exotics Driver...But I'm not sure how it'll compare to the slew of impressive import drivers. They all claim to have great technology and quality...What is a Ho in Training to do? :tsg_smilie_whistle:

Hey Guys and Gals, long time no post...Anyway, Without hearing the extensive reviews, which driver are you most looking forward to this next year? I'm leaning towards the new XXIO driver. I had the Twin Ax model, and it was one of the best drivers I ever hit. The new one looks even better and pretty darn futuristic...I just hope that Chris can get it with a less closed face... :tsg_smilie_money3: So what's on your "must have" list right now?

As far as I know, Fujikura makes Banzai shafts in both hybrid and wood versions. I have the wood version in my PRGR and TM rescue, and the hybrid version in my Fourteen. As for where to get Custom Grind Mizunos, PM Tourspecgolfer (Chris) and he'll hook you up with anything you need. (Or you can buy mine, now on sale in the B/S/T forum)

I did treat the set with silicon spray when I first got them, but I haven't treated them since that first time. However all of the wear in the pictures (including the rust) took place over one week (approx. 6-7 rounds) Actually, the sole wear doesn't rust, only the area where excessive dirt got between the ball and the clubface before impact. The "fat" shot chipped off the finish on the face, and the rust is appearing where the finish chipped off...Just wanted to clarify... :smile1:

Yea, thanks a lot for the update. The wear on the 8 iron does send up some red flags. Looks like it was hit off the cart path :confused: You're welcome! Just doing my part... :wink: I wish the 8 was hit off the cart path (that would almost justify the damages), but it was just a fat shot from the tee box on a par 3. I'm actually sending the club off to be refinshed since the face is starting to rust... :mad:

As promised, here are some pictures of how the shiny black finish for the custom Mizunos wear (after 7 rounds): Chemical fertilizer spots are vaguely visible on the 5 and 6 irons. Here are close ups of the wear on my 7 iron (probably used the most). To give you some reference, I don't go after the ball over-aggressively and I tend to sweep the ball more than I hit down on it. Here are close ups of the wear on my 8 iron. A friend asked to hit the club and then subsequently hit it fat and duffed the ball off of the toe on the high side :mad: (IN THE SAME SWING!!!) The effects of this miscalculated swing are evident. The finish has worn significantly AND the exposed metal has begun to rust. This happened even after I cleaned the club after the round and treated it with gun blue. Issues with my 8 iron aside, I think that the shiny black finish looks great and it seems to contribute to how solid, yet soft, the irons feel. Overall, my custom grind Mizunos are the best irons I've ever owned and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a true golf experience embodied in a set of irons... :love: :cool:

In honor of the new TSG view on the Gauge Design companies, I thought I'd share some pics of my Gauge Design putters from both Japan and US/D.W. 1.) Gauge Design US: 5th Anniversary Classic Mallet Style in an oil can finish. (David Whitlam was nice enough to give this putter to me after my custom order [see below] ran really late. ) 2.) Gauge Design Japan: Eldik Ace from the one and only TSG. 3.) Gauge Design US: Customized GAA3 ETBW in a black oxide finish with special paintfill and insert. My dream Gauge Design Putter would be a custom GD Japan putter based on the Tour One Black with a few special modifications...Maybe Chris and Gauge Design Japan could help a guy and his dream come true? :laugh: Well, here's to hoping...
