  1. This driver will my my X-Mas present to myself.once i get my X-Mas bonus.
  2. You want distance in a 3-wood. Get the Tour Edge Exotics CB2. Hands down, the longest 3-wood on the market.
  3. I am looking for a new 460 Nike Ignite+ DFI Driver. 10.5 degree, right hand with the Diamana Shaft in Stiff. Does anyone know where I could purchase one? Thanks.
  4. Allright. I edited my WITB post for the contest. But man, that crazy White-Tiger-San gave me a lot of grief. Please see new post above.
  5. I also replaced the BB 2007 3 wood with an Exotics CB2. See pics above. I got hold of a CB2 demo over the weekend and was bombing it off the tee and the fairway. So, I traded in a bunch of old clubs around the house and got one.
  6. The X-Hybrid seems easy enough to hit. It has weaker lofts than the FTs or Heavenwoods.
  7. I just tested the Tour Edge Exotics CB2 3 wood over the weekend. Now here's a 3-wood with driver distance. It's really long. Contrary to initial reports, I found the CB2 easy to hit off the deck. I ordered one so the BB 2007 will be replaced by the CB2.

  9. If you look at the USGA approved list of driver heads, there is a driver listed called the Callaway EL 460 that has the Hyperbolic Face Technology. This will probably be the cheaper US release of the Hyper ERC. To cheapen the driver, the US version will probably be forged in China, instead in Endo Japan. Then a cheaper shaft will need to be installed. The Callaway reps will acknowledge the existence of the EL 460 since it will replace the X460 driver.
  10. I did find out that my Hyper ERC is about 1.5 degrees closed. I thought this driver was supposed to be square or 0.5 degrees closed. I don't know if this is within their tolerances.
  11. I can vouch for this. If I put a hard swing on the Hyper ERC, I will hook it. But for a driver that is in the middle of the pack, the Hyper ERC seems stable enough.
  12. If you go to the Callaway Japan Website, there are three types of Hyper ERC balls: Gold, Silver and Blue. Does anyone know what each type is or the differences between each one?
  13. I saw this thread earlier and curiosity got the better of me. I took my 10.5 degree Hyper ERC to a golf shop to get measured. It's 11.0 degrees. I do believe that is within the tolerances. But, I also do not know how long it's been since the lie/loft measurement machine has bee calibrated.
  14. I got my Hyper ERC with the Speed Axis S shaft this past Monday. I took it to the range and compared it to my FT-5 with a Speeder 586 in it. The Hyper ERC has a taller face height, and according to Chris, sets up 0.5 degrees closed. This driver is just plain beautiful. Chris said it was forged in Endo, Japan, and it looks like a lot of care was taken in making it. On looks alone, it got a lot peeks at the driving range. Distance, the Hyper ERC won easily by 10+ yards. Feel, hands down the Hyper ERC won. Forgiveness, again the Hyper ERC wins. So much easier to hit than the FT-5. I tend to duck hook my FT-5 every now and then. i didn't hook the Hyper ERC. The Hyper ERC will send a ball down the range with a slight draw. I put a weaker grip on it and found that I can fade the ball on occasion. Again, it's performance drew a few looks. Makes me wonder........if Callaway can create such a great driver without Fusion Technology, will there be a future for Fusion Technology. Tadd Fujikawa already replaced his FT-5 with a Hyper ERC. Who's next? Anyhow, I guess I'm off to sell my FT-5 on ebay.
  15. I have an ERC Hot in 10 degrees with a Stiff Grafalloy Comp NT Shaft that has been Pured. Length is 45 inches. I will email you photos if you want.
  16. Here's my direct comparison input. I can hit a Callaway FT-3 about 245 to 250 yards. I can hit my ERC Hot about 260 to 270 yards. And the ERC Hot has a nice bang to it!
  17. Hey, lucky you. I want one of these.
  18. This goes back to an arguement about whether or not the Nike Blade irons played by Tiger are forged by Muira, like his Titleist irons before the Nikes. The most notable pro that plays a cast cavity back is Annika Sorenstam who uses Callaway X-18s.
  19. My golf instructor has told me to use a forged set to learn what pros learn. How it feels when the sweet spot is hit and how it feels when the sweet spot is missed. Apparently pros and low-handicap amateur like to know when the sweet spot is missed. It helps determine the estimated loss in distance and their next shot. Hence, my Fusion irons are now collecting dust and I switched back to my Mizuno MX-900s.
  20. The Callaway ERC Hot I carry gets the ball out there too.
  21. You know, I don't know. Chris would know. But what ever the standard lie is, it works for me.
  22. I think the Japanese would embrace the Callaway FT-I more than the Nike Sumo Squared. I've seen and hit the US FT-I. It has a simple black painted crown and wasn't as distracting as the Sumo Squared. But I think the new FT-5 may give the FT-I a run for its money. Anyhow, I await to see the the Japanese FT-5 or FT-I here on TSG. I'm saving $$$ for one of these.
  23. Personally, I'm waiting for the Japanese version of the FT-I Driver.
  24. I've used a lot of putters...Ping, Odyssey, Scotty, even Yes Golf. And Yes putters are dead accurate. But my G-Field Premium Zone No. 1 beats them all. The feel is great. The weighting is perfect. It puts an immediate roll on the ball. I haven't seen the ball skid with this putter.
  25. I've been using Golf Pride Tour Velvets from day one. I'm not looking to change anytime soon.
