  1. I had the 1150s in my wedges, but didn't like the heads that much. The 125 went into different wedges, but were also put together by a legendary club maker here in Aus. Jack has been know to get the yips with his wedges, so I believe the heavier shaft has been beneficial. I will keep you posted.
  2. Thanks guys, as usual brutally honest opinions. I have the 1150s in my studio hand mades. Only been using them for about six months (heads & shafts) but they are really getting dialed in and I love em. Based on the advice, I won't be changing my combo any time soon.
  3. gocchin The shaft is definetly aimed at the Japanese market with those specs. No problem with that, however it is a little disappointing for those with swing speeds over 80mph. Bit of a pity as the old Axiv had a range of weghts and flexes and were quite legedary around this site a couple of years back.
  4. Guys I haven't seen a post on this one, but on the basis that the KB tours are hot at the moment I was looking to geta comparison between the two from the people who have used both.
  5. Well guys I've had the Nippon 125s installed in my wdges and I really like them. It may just be me, however I can feel the shaft more during the course of the swing and I like the feeling. The extra weight in the shaft makes the head feel slightly lighter a feeling which I also like. I've only played one round with the new shafts, however once these are dialed in I believe they will be very good.
  6. I'm not sure you have posted in the correct section, however... I have been on about this subject for the last 3 years. My point of view is simply the marketing departments of the club manufacturers have constantly reduced the lofts of the various clubs to say to the public "my 5 iron is longer than yours". A couple of points come out of this: 1) Your 5 iron IS longer than mine but that is because yours is a 3 iron stamped 5 iron 2) The average club golfer struggles with longer irons 3) Personally I have also had problems getting distance control on the shorter irons. The simple reason is that the modern sets strong lofts on short irons are simply wrong 4) Tiger woods irons are traditional lofts or there abouts The tricky part with all of this of course is if you like the latest verson of Mizuno but want the right lofts in your short irons, the only solution is a combination set. I played MP 11s for sixteen years with pretty close to traditional lofts and they were simply great.
  7. Hey guys, I've just ordered 2 of the Nippon WV 125 Wedge shafts... ...just wondering if anybody has tried them out yet??
  8. There is an x-drive prototype kicking around in one of the US Bridgestone players bags. Only seen a photo, but it does look pretty sexy. ....any information or pictures would be good.
  9. Mate thanks for posting your bag. Those irons look like absolute beauties!! From the photos, it would be fair to say George has kept the shape of his irons fairly consistent with what he has produced in the past, which I think is a good thing. I like the look of the on off bag. I too am interested in the superman driver cover. Overall the whole set up is pretty snazzi!!
  10. bogeydog, I assume you have tried the Nippons. If possible would you care to make a comparison between the KB Tours and the NS pros.
  11. Man you need to make a post in the "what's in the bag" forum. Could you also run us through the characteristics of the KB tour shafts. Mate simple a beautiful bag. I look forward to seeing the photos.
  12. Well Chris your "new" bag says it all really. I notice the PRGR 3 wood that has been there for yonks has been replaced by GS and the Epon irons that were there for yonks have been replaced by GS muscle backs. I'm almost too nervous to ask this question, having recently put Gauge Studio Hand Mades in to play, however.......how do the GS muscle backs compare with the Studio Hand Mades Please use as much detail as possible A review of the 3 wood would also be good comparing GS to the Epon. My Epon is a canon, however I am still interested in your view, particularly as the GS has made your bag.
  13. d**ksy why are you selling your studio hand mades?? I thought these were the Nirvana / Holy Grail of Japanese irons. .....anyway PM plus1 and they are as good as sold
  14. Man, I have to say that pink shaft is pretty cool!!
  15. Take a wet and a dry towel to the range and wipe them with the wet one first and then dry them with the dry one. Good enough for the pros and their caddies.....
  16. The Taylor Made driver came from the Japanese tour van. I know I should probably upgrade but good swings produce long straight drives. The wedges are great, I've produced backspin from a green side trap

  18. How's the G-Field driver go for you?? It looks like a beauty!!
  19. I know wedges can ware out....but as previously indicated our ho tendencies prevent this from happening
  20. Hey, nice bag. You will definetly have to do a review on those Mizuno Tournament Model irons. A couple of more pics of the irons would be good too.
  21. Chris, I'm sure most of us would be interested in a review, once you have a set of these in your hands. They certainly look like a players club.
  22. Phillip Alexander replied to golf 37's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Should be a good day for everybody the day these are released Can't wait!!
  23. My Chikara chews golf balls, but not to the same degree. idrive, these are obviously a lot of fun to play with, however you might have to re-mortgage the house to keep the supply of Titleists up to them
  24. Very nice indeed gocchin. May I suggest, George may be able to give Epon a run for their money.
  25. Hey guys is George going to do wedges If so could we get some pictures.
