  1. And after seeing the new Scratch CBs, I would give them a try. A very clean looking iron. The finish probably isn't applied until loft and lie adjustments are made, which would make them look like they'd never been touched when you got them.
  2. Sometimes, it's not the chrome that's damaged, but the carbon steel itself. When clubs are bent that much from their standard from the factory lie, the metal kinks. I would try and custom order a set from Mizuno. 1* isn't a huge difference and you might add a quarter of an inch to the length to make up for that 1* difference in lie angle. BTW, how tall are you? I have a friend who's 6'7" and he plays 2* upright and 1" long. I also had a set of tour Taylor Made 300 NS that belonged to Hank. His PW was 5* upright when I got it. The clubs looked perfect. Miura forgings might be another option for you to pursue...
  3. I always put a layer of tape over the hosel of the club, too...just to be safe.
  4. I chip like Mike says, however, if I really need to spin one, I allow my wrists to hinge and then flip at the bottom. It works. Also use a super weak grip (like both thumbs down the middle of the grip)
  5. I thought Faldo used MS203s?
  6. They're like a hundred bucks from the Aldila R&D dept.
  7. That's just plain mean showing pics like that. 8O
  8. I talked to him. He sells them for 30 a dozen but it will be a few weeks before he could get me a box.
  9. I used to play a 757 fully inserted in a 975J. It was a noodle. I switched to an x flex and there is a HUGE difference in feel and dispersion. It actually was a little boardy for my liking, though.
  10. I played with some guys yesterday and on one hole I hit it 35 yards by a guy I could never hit it by. Heck, I was usually last to hit in the fairway on mis**ts! That's just one damn solid stick. BTW, he made a double eagle on a par 5 yesterday w/ a 5 iron. Needless to say, he won a skin.
  11. Good to see some 300s still in the van. 8)
  12. LMAO I don't think his "cell" phone accepts incoming calls.
  13. I'll contact the local rep and see what he has to say. He can probably get them for 30 a box...maybe less. I'll let you know.
  14. I am getting the impression some of these sets really aren't tour and have been grinded by some shop, rechromed and sold for big bucks?????
  15. TM tour issues are good but overrated. I actually prefer the softer feel of my $310 used MP30s. Of course, if I were selling sets for upwards of $1500+, I would hype them, too...even though they might not be in the bag.
  16. I think TM 200 tour fairway woods add 1.25" to actual shaft length i.e. 43" club length equates to a 41.75" raw shaft length.
  17. Very nice bags. What magazine did those pics come from?

Will somebody post a review of the 553? Swingspeed, launch, typical miss, etc.... Thanks.

Mark, you've got serious club hoing issues. 8O
  20. I think the HK80 launches a little higher and distance is better with it over the Pro 95. I have always played a heavy fw and driver shaft and the HK80 can handle a hard swing like a Pro 95.
  21. I have always been partial to a Pro 95 in a fairway wood. However, I bought a Miz hot metal that came with a HK80 and it's a very good shaft for a fairway wood.
  22. 54* gunmetal Tour Grind 588 S400 +1/4" Lamkin crossline cord 8.5-10 condition clubface is pretty damn clean with no rusting club has factory no dig grind and heel grind $110 shipped pics will take time
  23. I honestly think she's happy to get rid of me for a few hours a couple times a week.
  24. After a few range sessions with the club, I have come to the conclusion that this fw is the best of all time. Versatile from all lies (sole has a leading edge grind stock), extremely solid and damn long.

I play a 40+ X3 (306 cpms raw) in my FliHi 18*. The shaft has a soft feel despite the high kick, low torque and tight tip. I hit medium to high trajectory 240 yard bullets off the tee. The shaft is very predictable and consistent. The only problem I have is the butt diameter. I like to play small grips even though I have big hands and it really blows up a tour velvet cord. Feels like it has 3 wraps of tape underneath a standard iron shaft.
