Fourteen forged 770 vs Epon J type Iron
My swing speed is based on one visit to a golfsmith launch monitor a year back(its tough to get on one in manhattan, new york). it was between 95 and 100. But golfsmith monitors are a hit or miss. My current swing is to try to take the club back in a smooth manner (previosuly it used to be very fast, onlookers say my current takeaway is still too fast, but it feels smooth to me compared to before), and then its a quick transition and fast down and through the ball. I have no idea what my wrist lag is, i would say should be on the low side as I tend to grip the club tighter than most (again, I am working on keeping it loose for the driver and fairway wood). I Usually hit the ball with 230-250 yards of carry with some roll. Bad shots are to the right or a low trajectory shot that still goes 180-200 yards carry and gets more roll. But in my home golf course or the Bethpage Black, you get punished for those shots. It needs lots of carry, precision wrt landing area and roll after that is always good. I love the Stock Drev Stiff shaft with the EPON 460 cc. I like it so much that I refused to tinker with theset-up (normally I would have just reshafted with the Roddio). I then looked at other driver heads so that I did not have two of the same head. Long story short, I kept coming back to the EPON 460cc. So thats what i have on order with the Roddio 6WA stiff flex.

Fourteen forged 770 vs Epon J type Iron
I haven't tried the fourteen driver, but have tried many many more..US and Japanese. Last November I purchased the Epon 460 with the Stock Drev Stiff shaft. I put it in play the third week of April (start of season, and i dont visit the range during the off season). I also had the Ft-5, 907 D2, D1, X-drive 460. fast forward to today, I only have the EPON and the D1 left. The D1 was put up for sale recently and I just ordered another EPON 460 CC with the Roddio. The EPON is a great looking, soft feeling, a slightly higher launch (good for me), explosive driver. My driving has never been better. When the new EPON with the Roddio arrives, the existing Epon will go in the backup bag. Only two clubs have ever made it in the main bag AND the back up bag at the same time (I use the backup bag about 2-3 times a month at bethpage black / outings) - the Gfield 3 wood, and now the EPON 460 CC driver. For a club Ho like me, thats BIG.

"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"!!!
yes and no. since i got the miura blades last year (and more importantly started using the Nippon 1150 Stiff flex) and the zodia, my iron/wedge game has been on fire. Off the tee was the issue. But this year since I got hold of a G field 3 wood (again probably more importantly the PT-7 stiff), I know that if i have a 3 wood in my hand, the ball is going to land 230-240 yards away. almost guranteed. a bad shot will be atleast 200 yards. Since I started using the EPON 460, my problems with the driver seemed to have disappeared. why? both the G field and EPON 460 with the tungsten wieghts help me launch the ball higher. the pt-7 shaft and the Nippon 1150 stiff shaft are so responsive, that golf has a different game. I took up golf 2 and half years back. Last year my handicap went down from 21 to 12 (primarily because of good iron/wedge game). this year I am trending to 8 (because off the tee, I am always in play). Now i have a premium zone putter and my chances of 1 putt have improved so much. I have never taken lessons. I dont hit the range except for 10-15 minutes before a round. I do play every weekend. some of the fall in handicap is probably because of all that I played, but a large portion is because I have the right equipment. I probably spent a lot getting to these clubs (buying, trying and selling other clubs), but I wish I had spent sooner (like last year when I held off buying the EPONs and G fields because of the expense). I wish i had. So getting the best clubs does not make a bad swing good, but definately allows a OK swing to score 6 strokes better per round.

52/58 or 52/56/60
For me it varies depending upon the course. For a course like Bethpage black where there is deep rough or deep bunkers around the greens and the greens usually at a higher elevation than the fairway, I use the following set-up D, 3W, 3H, 4-PW, 52,56,59. The 59 comes in handy anywhere around the green and helps to land the ball softly on the green. Same goes for my home course - fast greens, with usually pins in very difficult positions, next to a ridge or at the edge etc. where the difference between stopping the ball and not stopping the ball on a chip could be 20 ft-40 ft. back over the ridge or the break. for most other courses, where the greens are not tough or the greenside bunkers are not as deep or the rough is not as long, or there is not much elevation between the surrounding fairway/rough and the green, then I replace the 59* with a 5 wood/2H or a 3 iron depending upon the length of the holes I am thinking of replacing the Zodia 59 with a yururi 61 to increase the softness of the landing (then again, I want to see if Carlton will come with a 60+ wedge).

Epon releases Technity Forged 7 & 8 Woods
I prefer the gfield woods to the Epon woods. just easier to get them up and a better trjactory. More zing. I know shoe95 will be trying one this week and given that he has the gfield, I am looking forward to his comparison.

does the finish hold?- YURURI Forged RAW 61* Wedge Pics!!
I will be buying the 61* with the S400 (so that it is heavy). But I want to combine with other future purchases to save on shipping. shipping one at a time can be expensive.- Chikara Sole Grind
TBC perhaps you should consider allowing Chris to take pre-orders on your behalf. I, for one, can't wait for the wedges to be released. Ajay- What wedges would you get?
gft-sw, or zodia US spec (not chiba) (i havent tried the epon, saving the dough for the chikara).- G Field and Pro Shop
I think the only things that appreciate in value / stay constant are the Handmades and the premium zones. everything else is likely to follow the law of gravity. there's enough supply of the NC1s / fairway woods / utility woods in the resale market and the buyers are likely to move on to the next new thing (aka EPONs etc)- G Field and Pro Shop
Money is cheap, atleast these days. A group can be put together to raise the money, but will need to understand what the real issue is: cashflow issues (can be solved); key people leaving (very difficult to solve). Chris, do you have any insights.- Please rank the following in terms of "softness..."
Any update on the blade rumor?- G Field and Pro Shop
just when i thought i had found my holy grail. the 3 wood 14* gft with the PT-7 is an absolute bomb. ball rockets off the face whether its on the tee or the short grass or thr rough (not just any rough- bethpage black rough). Chris, does this mean that if we come across any gauge clubs, we should grab them.- Epon shaft Question
I dont have the EPON 460 shafted with OZik. But i have a Epon 7 wood shafted with the Ozik Altus. Putting it in play this weekend. Will post what I think next week.- WTB - Epon 3 wood, Gfield GFT 3 wood stiff flex, and GFT utility hybrids
title says it all. paypal loaded.- Wanted: Scratch Blades

I have the 52, 56 and 60 PM. 56 and 60 PM has been used for two rounds, 52 for four rounds. willing to sell as a combo. $260 shipped and paypalled CONUS.- US Retail Drivers and Japanese Drivers Lofts
I play the US retail drivers for now, my gamer is the r7 425 (not tour preferred) with a loft of 10.5* with the stock shaft. I am interested in purchasing the new G field or the Epon driver, but one question I had was: Most people say that the US retail drivers actual loft is much more than the stamped loft. so a stamped loft of 10.5* could be 12*. But the Japanese driver's stamped loft is very close to actual loft. So if use 10.5* loft in the US retail heads, wouldn't I find the 10.5* in the Japanese drivers to be too less loft for me. so should I never buy the japanese heads until my loft in the US goes to 8.5 or 9.5 so that when I buy a japanese 10.5* it would work for me. until then, i should stick to the US heads only. Any help would be appreciated as spending $700-900 is a lot of money for one club when you dont know if it will work.- First Look: G-Field GFT-1 Driver!
