Tourstage 430P w/quattro tech
You're right. Just my initial observations with the new 3wood I would say the QT produces a very penetrating flight. Even though the kickpoint is low, the ball flight does not balloon at all. In fact, you would think the shaft was a high kickpoint shaft with the ball flight it produces. I'm actually thinking now maybe the QT should go into the Epon? Maybe I'll just wait until a new driver comes out!! Oh no, here we go again. I hate when those seeds of "should we get a new club" are planted in the brain!!

Tourstage 430P w/quattro tech
Just a couple of quick comments on the QuattroTech. I do agree with Idrive that the shaft does have quite a firm feeling even at a stiff flex. As I've mentioned in this and other posts, just recently got a new Epon 3wood with the QuattroTech 85s. First round with it tomorrow but the backyard net session I did like the feel of the shaft very much. What I'm wondering in this post is, is the tetra-axial nature of this shaft (like the Axiv-V) contributing to that firmer feeling than one would expect. While firm however, in both cases the QuattroTech and Axiv-V give one the feeling that the shaft is with you all the way throughout the swing. So yes, its firmer than one would expect, but it supports the swing the entire way. I'm liking this new QuattroTech very much from both the looks and feel of the club. Would you Idrive or anyone else that has hit the QuattroTech agree with some of my initial observations? Any thing else to add?

Axiv V, Orienation of the shaft?????
Very interesting observations. That seems like very strong evidence to the fact of having the shaft placed correctly.

Tourstage 430P w/quattro tech
Glad to hear that the shaft is firm as I just got my 3wood with the Quattro and had intended to order x-flex but ended up mistakenly ordering s-flex. Looking foward to hitting mine as well as hearing more updates about the TourStage 430P. In terms of the X-Drive 460, wil that be the P model you will be hitting or the 460?

Ozik X Con 6 and NSPro 1150
Thanks for the update. I went with the info off their US website. Sorry Drew, didn't mean to mislead you. I'm guessing the US site doesn't have all the updated info. Anyone know if their product in the US is any different than their product available in Japan and elsewhere. On the US site they tout their products all being made to exacting presicion in Japan. I'd hate to think that there would be any difference.

A Visit to the Epon Japan Factory
Unreal pics, thanks Chris. I've praised the Technity driver many times in this site, now the 3 wood has just arrived and if they ever bring a blade to market I'm seriously going to have to give it a long look. Exciting time right now for TourSpec with all the buzz going on about the show.

Tourstage 430P w/quattro tech
Idrive, could you please give us some description of the feel of the QuattroTech shaft as well as some specs of it as well? Which model did you go with? Thanks again for the write up and initial insight into its playing characteristics.

Ozik X Con 6 and NSPro 1150
Hey Drew, In regards to the Nippon shafts they all come in 0.355 tip only with the exception of the fairway which are 0.335. However, you could probably find someone who could shim it to be able to fit into a 0.370. Don't have any experience with the Ozik so I can't help you there. B

Axiv V, Orienation of the shaft?????
Here's a previous thread in which this was discussed. Hope this helps even though it might be a little late. http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.ph...p;hl=axiv+shaft

Final Decision
Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm very interested from everyone who posts on this site about different clubs. I wish we could get a lot more to join in because it just helps everyone and its quite insightful. You definitely have a tough choice ahead. I'm sure Chris can shed some light on this matter but you'll have to be patient as he won't be back from Japan for another week and he's going to be fairly busy while they're there.

Final Decision
I haven't had the pleasure of hitting either iron, but I will give you my take on the shaft. If you're used to the 1150's and really like them, they should do just fine in the new set. How did you like the 950's. Were they a little light or did they feel good? Maybe you could get the place where you demo'd them to hook you up with the sames clubs with another type of shaft? If you're like me and like the feel of heavier clubs, stay with the 1150's or similar weight shaft. If the lighter shafts feel better and give you better flight, go with them. I got to say you have a tough choice. Both irons look very, very solid. Hey, by the way, since you are a fellow X-blader (at least for the moment) how'd the Epon and Fourteen compared to them?

JDM Goodies: Epon / Gauge Design Images!
I don't mean to threadjack here, but Gocchin when you get some rounds in, I'd love to hear your take on the Technity 5 wood.

quattro tech or axiv v....
The Axiv-V 7068 is the closest to the 6568H. Same flex but just 2 grams heavier. Don't think you should switch out the Quattro from 65 to 75 as all your doing is changing the weight of the shaft not the swing characteristics. I can definitely attest to the Axiv-V line and the Graphite Design PT line as being very fine shafts able to withstand hard swings. I have QuattroTech 85 coming in a 3 wood that I'm very excited about. Good luck with you decision. You may want to give the new driver a little more time before you make a final decision. Sometimes these shafts take a while to "grow" on you and what you thought you didn't like at first, you really come to enjoy. That's how it was with me and the PT-8.

G-Field GFT Fairway - weights coming loose
It must be something inherent to the woods as the utiltiy that I have doesn't have that problem at all and it has weights as well. On the 4 wood its only one of the two weights and its never come close to falling out. It still performs very, very well. Its sad to hear that they're none too healthy right now as I do like some of their product.

Limited Edition Tourstage X-Drive 460P w/PICS
Put it to you this way, its a limited edition with only a few made so even if it doesn't suit your swing you could always resell it at a later time. The one thing about the driver to keep in mind is that its designed to be fade bias.

Nippon Shat question
My Nippon Shafts have an X indication x-flex as should all Nippon Shafts. It could be a special make just for Srixon so no marking indicating the flex. Nippon does make several different flexing shafts depending upon the company their making it for. You may want to pry about this situation a little more from where you had them made.

G-Field GFT Fairway - weights coming loose
Yea, I have the same problem with my 4 wood. Its only one of the two weights and it seems to me it must be some kind of manufacturing flaw if its affecting a few of us. To be honest, I haven't had any problems with its performance because of it but it is a bit distracting.

Epon vs. Tourstage vs. Gauge Design Fairway Woods
I have a G-Field GFT 4 wood with an Epon 2007 3-wood on order. Once I get some rounds in I'll post a comparison between the two as far as feel is concerned. Won't be able to give any info on the TourStage however.

Axiv vs Roddio - What are the differences?
Put the Roddio out of the mind for the time being and go get up close and personal with the Epon/Axiv V. I too have seen all the latest write up on this shaft but I'm too happy with the Axiv V. I've never been a big fan of the Daiwa company so maybe that's why I'm not so excited about it. I also don't like the look of Roddio as well so that too has something to do with it. Hit the Epon/Axiv V for awhile and wait until more is written from others testing out the Roddio. If after that time it is still living up to the hype, then make the switch!! Have fun.
