  1. that's last year's model. notice how the middle section of the cavity back is different than the 2008, still an excellent club
  2. are you able to throw in the 445 black into the mix since that's one of the best sellers as a reference point?
  3. so how does one know if the shaft is too sort or too stiff? how do we recognize them by shot patterns or ball flight? any good drills you'd suggest for a whippy tempomaster? thanks Jack
  4. ozik hybrid is an excellent choice
  5. yup, it's more like 18 and sometimes 19 with spin at about 2k sometimes it would spin too much, up to 3k, i think it's a spinny head. this launches very high for me. the epon 9.5 launches lower. the shaft doesn't seem stiff or boardy at all. in fact, my v2 sr flex seems more boardy than this. i can tell when something is too stiff when i don't get a good swing speed. when i'm getting about 88 or 91, the shaft is unloading properly for me. the head is a 10.5 so it helps a bit. i also get nice draws with this driver. not sure why, i guess as long as it works and is near optimum for me, i won't ask why
  6. i wonder if i went with a regular flex, would i gain more swing speed?
  7. the 445 at 10.5 degree with the stock stiff seems perfect for my 88mph swing. i'm getting really good numbers with this combo, on par with my XLS Tour but feels a heck of a lot better. the stock stiff seems softer than a stiff. The balance is where it shines for me. might not work for everyone. i'm getting 230-240 carry at about 20 degrees with spin about 2k. these are at swing speeds of 92-93. i wasn't able to swing the stiff xcon6 at these speeds, maybe it just matches my tempo and swing profile. does anyone know what other shafts have the same bend profile and weight as the black diamana? Jack
  8. what does the 901 cpm out to?
  9. i have had mine for a few weeks and used it a few times. it does indeed help you "feel" the proper stroke which is coo. but i can't find the setting that i like the best.
  10. read this thread http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/t24897.html the ViQ's are probably easier to find right now, they are both at the top of their game if you don't want to spend money on the latest and greatest.

Tourstage Visor opened but never used selling my Tourstage equipment excellent quality stitching, rare $35 http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii179/j...rstage%20visor/
  12. yup, it's common. i shred with my scratches, chikaras, epons, and clevelands. it's really annoying when it rips up your new prov1 and when it spins too much on the green.

yup, that's what balanced certified does. golfsmith has their own, i think it's called tour lock or something. if you do a search on several forums, some people have done their homemade version with parts from home depot. balanced certified has come out with a new thing they call the stabilizer, they place more weight closer towards the hands and not in the butt. i haven't found a review for this yet. it's interesting. just wrap some lead tape around the shaft, it looks ugly but it's cheap to try out before spending lots of money.

the overall weight of the putter will go up. if you want to experiment with backweighting, do what i did stack some quarters on the butt of the grip and tape them down. i've done tons of experiments and after a year, I've decided to just not do any backweighting. some people swear by it though.
  16. supposedly, the 247's is the same club as the 202 except it has the selective metal used in the miuraism line of clubs. very expensive. the grind might be different, i don't know.. a bit deep for my pockets. the only thing that's keeping me away from the 202s are the shorter irons, they are too bulbous and doesn't flow well into the mid to longer irons. too bad TSG doesn't sell just the 4,5,6 separately at a good price.
  17. i'm interested in how the cb247 compares to the rest. Is there a list or matrix of JDM irons that fit a certain type/style of swing?
  18. the 445 is my main driver next to the epon ZR 9.5 and X-Drive GR 10.5 (both had Oziks). What I find on the 445 is a good balance of everything and the shaft combo is a good balance also. The club seems like it has a good weight to it without the shaft being too stout. The shaft doesn't look as nice as a IP diamana or an Ozik, but it provides very good performance with this head. I'm not one to argue with the engineers at Tourstage/Diamana, I don't think they've spared any expense on their designs. Not the most forgiving driver but it feels, sounds, and looks so sweet. you do need to be a little more aggressive with your swing which I prefer for a driver. When I'm aggressive on the Epon or GR, it spins too much, with the 445, it gives me a nice mini fade with a good trajectory. I hit this club as long if not longer than the other two. I've posted some launch numbers on this forum somewhere. The low heel hits are killers for me, the toe hits are ok, gives me a nice draw with shorter distance. I'm a midcapper mostly from my lack of a short game and my swing speed is about 92-96mph. You'll need to get one and try it out for yourself, you won't be able to justify with the opinions on these forums. I haven't heard any negatives except that this club was made for lowercappers with a recommended swingspeed of 100mph. I think with a 10.5 and 95mph, you would be ok.

the red isn't really that noticeable, it's not something i look at during address. the important thing is the nice classic shape.
  20. hi guys, has anyone tried this and comment on whether it's worth the 300? thanks! Jack
  21. ok i see. has anyone tried the miuraism irons yet and compared it to the regular line?
  22. how does the CB247 differ in terms of playability than the Miura 202s? they look identical, if they are, why pay the premium for on/off?
  23. i dont like the name and symbol, seems a bit cheesy. maybe something that's just one word with a better symbol
  24. yup, got one a few weeks ago and mostly used it on the range because of all the rain and the cold I caught last week. I got a new 445 in 10.5 with black diamana stiff. I've put it against my Epon Xcon6 9.5 and XDrive GR 10.5 Code6 on the vector and it's very comparable to the Epon. It's not better in performance but it does feel more balanced and looks hella nice in black. I've hit about 8 balls each. Here are the numbers, please comment and offer advice. I plan on using the Epon for hard fairways that will let it run and the 445 as the main driver. The Epon feels a lot nicer and softer, the 445 is a bit louder, the GR is a tad louder than the 445, but none of them are annoyingly loud. The GR is longer heel to toe. The 445 doesn't look smaller than the Epon, they look about the same. At address, I don't notice the red webbing. What's cool is the grooves on the face, I guess for more backspin. The Epon had a tighter dispersion while the 445 had more carry and was overall longer for my swing, but had about 10 more yards dispersion to the right. The shafts are totally different in each so it's hard to compare. It's a real nice driver and don't let anyone tell you it's for really good ballstriker. I'm a midcapper with a low swingspeed, I didn't have any issues whatsoever with the 445 with 10.5 loft. The stock shaft is ultra stable and I gripped down half inch to match my Epon's length too. As you can see from the numbers, the launch is a bit high and the spin is a bit low, I guess it's too extreme for high launch and low spin.
