Not sure that that is totally correct ..... I have a SS07 that is only different from a 3.5 in that it has a longer hosel to enable it to be bent in order to change the lie angle. It's the longest surviving club I've ever had and I've hit more good shots with it than with any other club. It;s a bit long on the tooth and am thinking about trying something more current like the RC BBD 304P....anyone tried one?
  2. Can't really go wrong with Epons.....even though they are a litlle 'spendy'. Love mine
  3. That has my name on it......
  4. I'm a big 54/58 fan myself.... I look forward to your findings, Epon = Beautifully made.
  5. 2 Rounds in here are my thoughts.... The Head is a beautiful shape and hides it's size very well. The shaft is really well finished and although the graphics are a little 'Cheesey' for my taste, I soon got used to them and forgot about them. The feel is certainly different, the sound is a muted thwack, a little much like my Tourstage MR23 driver (which I know has been foamed to weight), maybe the Epon is foamed too? I wouldn't call it Persimmon like but certainly more solid sounding/feeling than most TI drivers..... I like it. The Shaft is really something different, I went SR although normally play a Stiff. There's no way this shaft was gonna be sending the ball left, unless I pulled it left. It really does seem stout, until you actually hit a ball and then it just wants to go straight and long. I'm a low traj player (need some blue pills) naturally and maybe the 10.5 loft Af102 is a little too low-launching for me, although I did hit some really good bombs, it wasn't consistant in terms of trajectory. I think that Crazy are really onto something with their shafts, it's like no other that I've swung and I think I can get to love it. The club as a whole, is showing some progress and I am going to perservere with it, it really is early days and I think it will build it's reputation with me rather than being an instant surprise. The length has not been as great as some have found, but I think that's more a trajectory issue and maybe I can improve that. The quality of the components and the build are really exceptional,. I know it's a cliche but anyone should give either the shaft or the clubhead a whirl, because I think for some it could be nirvana.
  6. Now I'm super-excited to see what results I get when my LY/Epon turns up.
  7. Greata and timely post.... I have an Epon AF102 with the same crazy shaft/flex coming..... I hope I have a similar experience with my swing! Keep us posted ....
  8. maybe due to recording at a covered range? I find clubs always sound different to out on the course when hit in a covered range. Top marks for the presentation though and you're a natural at the narration Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi T, or anyone...... which Crazy shaft most resembles the performance of the Mitsu Ilima 60gm Stiff? Would it be the Longest Yard TJ-46 in SR flex.???? I love my Ilima but i'm always looking for something better/longer.....(aren;t we all?)
  10. I think the Epon 502 might be even better for you..... I went from TS x-blade cbs to Epon 302 and really love them. I know it's subjective but you should really check them out.
  11. The copper looks really nice and the good thing is that if you do make an idiot mark it will eventually tarnish and fade away (unlike the black).

These are my top 4 that I'm considering.... see above quote Love the quality of the Epon offerings but expensive, Yamaha Inpres impresses me(LOL), Always a fan of TS but only comes in 9.5 and the Crazy is unproven........ I go back and forth on a daily basis.
  13. If you're going with that finish, you'd better be sure you're hitting the ball out of the middle (especially on bunker/sand shots). I couldn't stand pulling out a club with a bullseye mark on the toe.....
  14. Whilst acknowledging Idrive's ticked offness and concurring, I'll still go ahead with these new versions... I Need new wedges ASAP
  15. Another Sonartec here.... SS07, can't find anything better, although I haven't tried too hard either

Ooooh that's good news, thanks for the update TSG Patience Idrive!

I ordered non-conforming raw.... I'm unsure about which way to go in the future but for now I really need some new wedges. 52/58 will be a departure from my normal 54 59 setup but I reckon not that much of a difference. Looking forward to seeing them in the flesh.

Thanks for those C...... Better place an order I guess!

Thanks for posting this.... some good information. One Question though.... I thought the TS 703 LE only came in a 9.5 deg loft configuration, or am I mistaken?

I have too have an 'ilima shaft in a tour Adams Classic deep face which is a similar combo(lower launching head with higher launching shaft). Its a great shaft.

I agree.... for me though the heavier weight has reduced my 'flash speed' , which was a goal for me without going to a really heavy shaft. Yep they are smooth, no loss of distance but the trajectory is lower than the 950s I had before(not sure if that is or isn't a benefit... time will tell). Oh and they are less 'Satiny' than I was expecting having used the super peening putter shafts, these are in between satin and full chrome to my eye..... don't have a preferance either way. So far so good, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these to anyone. I'll try and post some further thoughts/findings later when I've got some rounds under my belt. The Honeymoon is still hot and eager!
  22. Hi Idrive, I look forward to seeing the results of your tests, my problem with the PRGR is one of optics.... the 'pointy' toe is something I try to avoid in a wedge (I know, call me shallow!). The Cleveland 'forged', I'm kind of turned off of the through their previous forged or 'form-forged' wedges which I always thought as a bit fraudulent. I'm waiting to see some shots of the Crazy wedges at address, these look and sound like they could make my bag but at the moment the front runners are the OnOffs(not sure why I haven't actually coughed up for these yet?). There are signs of Spring around here so the pull of new clubs is getting stronger!

Hi Chris, Do you have any face/address pictures of these wedges yet......?? Love to see some
  24. Gocchin (Tario) is travelling at the moment with little to no e-mail access and Chris is V. busy...... they'll answer soon i'm sure. I'm in the same boat I'd add the OnOFF shingo (Endo forged) 52/58 combo The Crazy wedges ahve really caught my eye Any of the 3-luck 'dare-to-dream wedges. Basically anything sold in the pro store!

So my Epon 302s turned up today and here's my impressions: 1. Man these are beautifully put together, nicely turned ferrules, clean and shiny heads, grips on straight and perfectly aligned etc. 2. the offset looks perfect to me 3. the size and shape of the heads are far better looking at address than I'd expected, even the PW (usually the ugly sister of the set) is beautiful. 3. the No 1 grips are a) the correct size for me and b) feel & look much better than I was expecting(had originally wanted Iomics) but these seem even better to me. 4. They were better packed than any set of irons I've ever had delivered, foam separators, individually wrapped heads, shafts protected with more foam. 5. The spec sheet and letter from Epon was a nice touch. bad points. 1. The grips really smell! It's a kind of solventy/chemical smell so maybe it was the solvent/grip tape or something but hey I was already high on the looks and now .... well I'm just high! Specs 4-pw NS Pro super peening red stiff, No 1 grips, std loft and lie. Hopefully I can do these some justice.... if winter ever ends!.
