Posted October 12, 200420 yr comment_59846 Pics firsts REVIEW to come later after they get back from Paul at Shreveport Golf. Gonna give the NS PRO 1050 a try. Hiro Matsumoto MI02 vs 2004 Gauge Design CB [/img]
October 12, 200420 yr comment_59857 Wow, your killing me here, first I couldn't decide between the gauge or miz. combo for next season, and now these. The sole on the gauge looks wider, but it looks like the hiro's have more offset. The hiro's look real nice, but from the pics it looks like a chrome finish , can you get them in satin or black? Anyways I can't wait for the review.
October 12, 200420 yr comment_59858 Hiro's have way's less offset and IMO its the black Teflon that hides the gauges size. Satin Gd's look much bigger than the black. I am surprised how well the sole of the 5 iron stood up to play. Different Finishes make you feel different ways. Satin is good because they don't shine, but they also make the iron head look larger. Chrome shines and blinds but the head still looks smaller than satin. Black Hides ALL but wears, If Teflon it also gives it a softer mute feel.
October 12, 200420 yr comment_59863 If end up not liking it you could add a slash to the top of that "h" in the cavity and it would look like "TM" in cursive then sell it over a BSG for $$$$ imagine Protoypes that say Made in Japan on the actual club itself
October 12, 200420 yr comment_59864 I guess it could be the angle that makes the hiro look as if it has more offset. Can you compare the 2 in terms of playability, feel...the cavity looks deepeer on the hiro's are they more forgiving? Are they really worth it over the gauge or m-stamps I'm looking to get either one of these.
October 12, 200420 yr Author comment_59865 The hiro's have a hint of nickel satin in their look but overall they are a beautiful satin finish. If your in the LA area Godfather1 I wouldn't mind meeting up and showing you my gear. Most of my GD irons have taken a beating Chris. Been touching them up with krylon plastic enamol paint and black plastic dye. I don't pratice with them on the range anymore :wah:. Does GD do any refinishing on the teflon? And would they have silverstone coating (2nd generation teflon...more durable)?
October 12, 200420 yr comment_59866 I would love to come down, I was actually in mission hills a couple of weeks ago, and it will be a while until the next visit, now with christmas season starting I'm real busy.
October 12, 200420 yr Author comment_59868 For sure the Hiro's have less offset. They are very similiar to the MR23 CB's in size, profile, offset etc. Forgiveness wise the GD's are in a league of their own. Hands down some of the most forgiving irons I have ever played. The main thing with the Hiro's is you get punished more on the feel than the distance and direction. I've been missing alot on the heel because I need my lie angle adjusted but the ball still goes straight and maybe 5-10 yards in lost distance. The Hiro's feel like s**t if you miss but so do most of the iron sets I own. I think with the GD's they don't punish you as much on dispersion, distance, and feel if you mis**t them. If your a good ballstriker then these badboys are perfect for you. I get excited everytime I go out to the range and hit them. If your a "player" then I don't see why you wouldn't get these because they fit the player profile.
October 12, 200420 yr comment_59885 Thanks for the pics. Those are 2 of the sweetest looking iron sets in the world! The HM's look unreal and look awesome at adress!
October 13, 200420 yr comment_59890 you are incredible! After getting those sexy GD sticks, I probably wouldn't think of any other irons, at least not this quick! Both are amazing looking  . I would like to work for you, whatever business you are in. hahaha  where in LA are you in? what courses do you go to mostly? I live 5 mins from Pacific Palms course.

October 13, 200420 yr comment_59894 Now with these new pics I can see the minimal offset of the hiro's, the gauge look longer from heel to toe am I correct?
October 13, 200420 yr Author comment_59899 Matched them up side by side...to the unsuspecting eye they look dead even. Like i've said before...the black really hides the size well. Busted out the measuring tape and voila...the Hiro's are a tad smaller, were talking about MM here.

I don't want to hurt them  so which courses do you go to mostly?

October 13, 200420 yr comment_59959 Beautiful irons Juan.....very nice!!! Interesting how the two look pretty close in size yet you always hear on this site how big the GD's are?
October 13, 200420 yr Author comment_59960 Beautiful irons Juan.....very nice!!! Interesting how the two look pretty close in size yet you always hear on this site how big the GD's are? That's what I've been saying all along...the GD's are not game improvement and I could care less what other's think...just don't like misinformation being passed around especially by people who don't even own the irons. The difference between the Hiro's and GD's are millimeters.
October 14, 200420 yr comment_60138 sigh...once again a new goal...those are almost too beautiful to hit ...really anxious to read your review ... cash flow must have more cash flow.
