kpcw
A good friend from a big golf store had the Rep in over the weekend, dropped off a 'goody bag'. He gave me a sleeve of Maxfli Black Max that aren't sold yet (the sleeve it just white paper). I pounded them in the launch monitor for an hour. The first thing I do when someone hands me a new ball is to bounce it off the floor. I hear the sound and my ears tell me if it is soft or not (many ball manufacturers have done studies and it is weird. If ball A is harder than ball B, but ball A makes a soft sound at impact, golfers will explain that ball A plays softer). Anyway, it has very shallow dimples, felt soft but the ball really flew out there. Impressive ball. According to Maxfli: The Black Max Ball Maxfli has another winner in their ball series to complement the Noodle. The Black Max is an absolutely incredible ball that falls right in between the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x. The feel and distance produced by the ball equals the distance of the Titleist balls and Callaway’s HEX Tour ball, but surpasses both of them as to feel and workability around the greens and from 100 yards out. Shipping March MSRP: $39.
Sgt_Slaughter
i might have to give this ball a go. if it falls between the pro v1 and the pro v1x, it might be a good fit for me and the price is hard to beat. great info thanks

haribo
Can't wait to read some more in detail reviews on this Max Black ball. Thanks, haribo
el_noonan
I have hit them. They taylormade rep came to the course I work at as I posted earlier. These balls in my opinion are junk. They have a clicky feel off the wedges and putter, yes they go a long way but so does a rock flight. Don't waste your time or money, they in now way are in the same league as the pro v especially not the same league as the callaway black. tsg4tch
Black Max is the new lower cost ball this year. Outperforms B330 in every way. I think they have a winner if the price is discounted enough.

That's the first negative I've heard on this new ball from several forums. But then, I like the Rev Tour -- long and good spin. Just needed a bit less spin off the driver and irons. I've heard this is what the BlackMAX does. Will still try them.

yogi
I just played 18 with it here in Tampa and Its still tough to give out an actual verdict. I felt as if it was pretty long but Im not sure that I could give a fair comparison being its the only ball I hit today. I would say its not as soft as the proV1 with the wedges and puting but it seemed to hold the greens well. I think the spin is there its just not as soft feeling. I will try again tomorrow and give a final lowdown on it. G
golf9596
:wah: I spoke with the TM rep today and all I could get was a hat. lol I hit the ball into the net and thought it was very good. It seems very firm off the driver. I will need to hit the course for a true comparison.
Randy
I played a round with the ball yesterday. It's now my ball of choice. I had previously been playing ProV1 and HX tour. To me, it feels as good as the ProV1, but is a little longer. Randy
golfpro57
Well it may be the best thing since sliced bread, but Maxfli is so low on the Ball totem pole they will have a big hurdle to jump before this one becomes a threat to the ball market. They have lost all of their main ball supporters, Freddie(to Bridgestone) Jack(to Callaway) and Norman (to Titleist), so they have no tour exposure and IMO tour exposure sells golf balls. Maybe they can get there Staff players to play and endorse it, Sergio, Daren and a few others might have some effext on the ball's popularity. I for one hope they make it ,be good to see maxfli back in the winners circle.
taipanli
Used to be a Maxfli only user up to the M3 at which time the other manufacturers started making far superior balls. Gave the Revolution Tours a try and hated them. Soft enough, not very long, and the cover was crap. Have totally gone off Maxfli who will have to do something very special to regain their reputation. Don't see that happening anytime soon. If you're looking for a great ball at a cheap price, get some Srixon UR-Xs which are being heavily discounted now that the HRX333s and Z-URs are out. With Srixon, you're getting a Japanese ball at US market prices - can't beat that. I currently play the Tourstage X-01S but will switch back to Srixon shortly - best balls IMHO.
