The master
Hi there guys, just a qucik question, I just got this off a friend very cheap and I think it needs buffed up a little. My question is it has a sky marks on the right part of the headwhich aren't very noticable but de-value it a lot, is there anyway to mix the paint in to cover these up? My other part of the question is would I be best removing all the titleist 983k paintwork I know a lot of people are doing it these days. And how do I do this thanks. Here is a pic of the club. FAQ
Take to get it sand blasted by someone good. I think Joe Kwok might do that. That is the finest and least damaging.
NickBooras
Sandblast and refinish. I've messed around with it a but, but I am nowhere near an expert. Make sure you go to someone who knows what they're doing. I'm sure Joe Kwok can give you a suggestion as to who does good work.
bert-b
About 6 months ago I sent my 983K to Golfworks to refinish. They couldn't match the paint exactly, but overall it was OK, not great. This weekend I decided to do myself and used a brass brush attachment for my drill and took the paint off all the way to the metal. After spending quite a bit of time masking the face, etc. I believe it is just not worth it to do myself. I would suggest for the $40-$50 that most people will charge to do it professionally it is worth it! Bert-B
joey3108
Paint striper. Bead blast. Tape it up. And go to a powder coating place and ask if they could try at least close enough to the titleist paint color ( bring one or borrow one for sample ). You need to take the shaft out, cuz a good powder coating, required the head to be bake to make the paint hard enough to stand impact or scratch. good luck!
