"RECENT NEWS ON TIGER: UNKNOWN CLUB IN HIS BAG?

Many stories have been written lately on Tiger's club's, the debate continues as to how good are his Nike Drivers. My opinion is the make good shoes, period. Leave golf club making to those who are experts at it. I think Tiger knows this, my spy's have noticed a different club in his bag lately. We had never heard of the club before but after researching the brand we discovered a true master of golf club making in his bag. The club is from the Master MIURA. Those not knowing this name should get ready to see the difference in skill this Master has compared to the mass produced clubs we are so used too. Check out the site and get ready to see a Tiger Secret, I bought a putter of the web site and I think it is the best putter I have ever touched. I know a Tiger secret, here is the site link www.miuragolf.com"

DOES ANYBODY have an idea as to what this guy is talking about? Is Miura forging irons for Woods??

Last I heard Tom Stites was doing all the club building for Tiger and Nike.  I am disturbed by posts bashing Nike as clubmakers.  Tom Stites is a master club builder and made clubs for Hogan fo years.  Enough said.

PHATZ

yea thats what i heard stites does all tigers clubs.

That's what I thought.... although it wouldn't surprise me if Miura did forge his blades, but with Stites' design and the Nike stamp. I understand that Miura does and have been doing that for tour pros under contract with other companies. Those companies just want to make sure the cosmetics looks like their brand, but don't care about the raw material. I know and have seen Miura-forged Mizuno MP-14 blades on eBay, and Miura USA have told me that they can forge just about anything for $2000 and 8 weeks' wait.

I've heard that Miura forges his blades from several people.

i know theyve done some prototypes for nike. precision has a set i think. the half cavities i was talking about the other day...stewart cink and a few other nike guys have played them.

It's been well documented that Stites came onboard with Nike for the sole purpose of being able to work with Tiger, and Tiger as well has commented on the work that he's done with Stites so like was said above...the muira connection is old news.

Hoffman forged those blades if I'm not mistaken.

Hoffman forged the original "T" 681 irons for Titleist. And, Stites is a designer, not a manufacturer. He designs the nike clubs, but I doubt he operates the press at the foundry! I don't know if Miura forges Tiger's clubs, but the Nike blades do bear resemblance to the North American Miura blades.

i know for sure miura makes tiger's wedges.

And how do you know that for "sure"?

well, not 110 percent for sure for sure, but over 75 percent for sure. one of the golf pros down here who's on the nike staff told me. they passed out miura wedges similar to those of tiger to whose who played in the SBS pro am tourney.

Tigers wedges were forged by Nike and then hand ground. Tiger's wedges weren't even made for him. He picked them out of a closet and tested them while at Nike, and loved them and then took them. This is from Stites. As for the forgings, I cannot argue that Miura forges a better club, I have my arguements that it doesn't matter, but that doesn't matter. I am sure Stites does not use the CNC machine or forge the irons himself, but he does design them, and they went through 11 sets before they found the CG Tiger needed. He and his staff did the designing on bounce, toe shpae, hosel, CG, and size which is what matters. Therefore Nike made and makes Tiger's equipment.

Whoever it may be that's forging his club for him, the swoosh in the end gets stamped either way and Nike gives him the money every year. If the Miura connection is still there, it really doesn't matter in the end because it says Nike Blades as the clubs he's playing so people will buy the Nike blades, not the Miura Blades.

nike and tom stites DESIGNED them...miura still could forge them for nike, and they still would be nike clubs and an authentic stites design. thats the argument and the question were asking.
