Posted August 12, 200519 yr All you sellers seem to have one of these in YOUR bag. Please give us a review of your thoughts on the club. I have a bag of Mizzys and Bettis. Dare I say it, the utility club is a generic. I hit it well, but it doesn't look any where near as good as the Mizzy UX2. I also see you guys are playing the NS Pro shaft as opposed to the graphite. Is there a reason for this. Really just talking myself into parting with the cash. :money: _______________________________ KZG Gemini 9* Bang-o-matic 15* UT 5000 19* 4-PW MP 11 52,56,60 Bettinardi BB BB2
August 17, 200519 yr I purchased a 20* a few months ago and could not be more pleased. The NS Pro shaft that comes with it was fine but I put a "KWOK'D Bonzai" in it and its straight up the best hybrid I have ever used. I have tried them ALL (except Nickdent as I wanted a mid ball flight) Easier to hit off the deck than the CLK, better feel on the face. No hook or draw bias. Very versatile and ACCURATE. GET ONE.
August 26, 200519 yr These are best utility clubs I've ever hit. In fact, I just ordered a 23° to go along with my 20° UX2. I'm happy with the Nippons in them. I had the CLK's before and they are good, but with the Tungsten weighting and the design on the bottom. These are awesome. :mizuno:
August 27, 200519 yr love the look of these...i have only hit the clk (us retail version) an thouht it was excellent but chris thinks the UX2 kicks ass......il have to trust him on it as IMO he aint been wrong on quality before! id love to hear a review of the tourstage VIQ and the UX2
August 28, 200519 yr love the look of these...i have only hit the clk (us retail version) an thouht it was excellent but chris thinks the UX2 kicks ass......il have to trust him on it as IMO he aint been wrong on quality before!id love to hear a review of the tourstage VIQ and the UX2 I currently have both in the bag so I hope this helps. The ViQ's face is shallow when compared to the UX2, making it fly higher and land softer IMO. The feel of the ViQ seems softer at impact and overall the club feels both loud & mute/soft. I desire the feel of a perfectly struck shot with the ViQ over the UX2. The UX2 is more accurate IMO and tends to fly straighter and lower probobly due to its deeper face. The head feels heavy, solid and one piece to me. I use it from just about every lie with good results, if the rough is deep I would choose the ViQ.
August 29, 200519 yr I just made the plunge and ordered some MP UX 2's with the Nippons from Chris. I hope they live up to their rave reviews. I've been playing the Hogan CFT's, and believe them to be really fine hybrids. I'm hoping to move from very good to outstanding. We'll see........
August 29, 200519 yr nice summary chris, and great pics. ive decided to go for the UX2 with the nippon and il do a comparison between that and my gauge g001 with the graphite desigh hybrid! anyone tried the graphite design hybrid in the UX2?
September 1, 200519 yr Does anyone know how this UX2 performs compared with the 2005 rescue dual tp? i hit the tp today and thought it was sweet, maybe went a bit high but feel and distance seemed good!

I am just curious; if the ViQ has a shallower face than the UX2, why would it be preferable from deeper rough? I'd think that a shallower faced club would be more likely to "submarine" and hit a pop up shot than a deeper face. What am I missing here?
September 3, 200519 yr just paid for my ux2 through the tourspec catalog.....hopefully it wont take toooo long coming and as soon as it does il do a review! especially in comparison to the CLK...... mainly to see if there are any differences

If your having problems doing the "submarine" work on your ball striking. It is common knowledge that a shallow face will produce a higher ball flight over a deep face. In my experience I need the ball to go higher when in the ruff.
September 3, 200519 yr i would definately agree.....for example out of the rough i found the sonartec md ( which has a deep face!) to be difficult to get out where as its shallow friend the tm rescue was easy!

In my experience I need the ball to go higher when in the ruff. I think we are probably visualizing different levels of rough depth. In light to moderate rough, submarining isn't an issue anyway, so neither a shallow nor a deep face hybrid is going to submarine without a really poor swing. In heavier, deeper rough, I think I would be just trying to punch it out with an iron anyway. When I have seen people (self included) get into trouble with submarining, it's usually in the scenario of trying to hit a low faced club out of moderately deep rough where an iron might have been a better choice anyway.
September 8, 200519 yr Just ordered mine... 20* on NS950. Can't wait to get it... thanks Chris! Mine are on their way from Japan as we speak. I hope they are here by this weekend. I'm really looking forward to hitting these.
September 10, 200519 yr They arrived today (17, 20, and 23 with Nippon shafts). I actually had to start my round without even warming up or hitting any of my clubs due to the need to get started so I wouldn't run out of daylight. I had the chance to play each of them a few times. I'll post a more complete evaluation after I've had more time with them, but my first reaction to today's play is a hearty "YEEHAW, YAHOO!!" The faces feel very hot, the shafts have a great feel, and they just want to go dead straight whevever I aim them. I think they are going to play 1/2 to 1 club longer than my Hogans, so I'll have to get them dialed in a bit more accurately soon. I'm VERY impressed so far, though.

September 10, 200519 yr wish mine was here, im dying to get trying.....your killing me with all these top class reports
September 13, 200519 yr chris can you help me out here, i have ordered a ux2 with the nippon 950 shaft......not sure how this is gonna work out. if it does great, but if not is it possible to reshaft it with a hybrid shaft ...ie banzai or the ut85 ? or could this mess the swingweight up?

The Mizuno Hybrids are designed to work with either steel or graphite, but not either.
September 14, 200519 yr thanks faq.....even if it was a heavy raphite? or even would i be able to change it from the nippon 950gh to say a px ?
September 15, 200519 yr chris can you help me out here, i have ordered a ux2 with the nippon 950 shaft......not sure how this is gonna work out. if it does great, but if not is it possible to reshaft it with a hybrid shaft ...ie banzai or the ut85 ? or could this mess the swingweight up? I don't think that would be a problem. Just make it 1/4" to 1/2" longer than it was with the NS Pro 950 shaft. That should make the swingweight come out right. The UX2 with graphite shaft from Mizuno is 1/4" longer than with the NS Pro. I've done this before when I've ordered fairway woods with the NS Pro but swapped it out for a graphite shaft. Worked fine.
