Polymer
I've hit the Cameron Anser style putters. They have very nice balance and the face seems to stay very stable all the way through the swing. Either it fits me very well or it's the putter itself. How do the Gauge "The One" and "Balde" compare in this aspect? I'm not sure if this question even makes any sense. I'd rather get the Gauge but I have no way of trying one first so I have to go by other people's opinions.
NaisuShotto
never tried the "one" or "balde" but used to play the tour series which is also anser style. balance and stability are a little better if you play a 33/34 shaft due to the heavier head weight. pretty similar overall but prefer the impact feel of gauge. better value compared to the retail camerons imo. plus the trnc face really rolls the ball nice! jt916
Don't try any of the Gauge "the one" or "Balde" !! I made the mistake of trying the Gauge design Japan putters, I ENDED UP BUYING BOTH OF THEM. Now I let my "Scott whatever" sitting in the garage collecting dust and felt bad that I wasted my money on "peer pressure". I know about the personal preference crap but go ahead and try it at your own risk...I just hope your budget is ready cause Once bitten...can't let go. Polymer
not worried about that. It just seems like the Cameron keeps the blade perfectly square to the ball (for me). Where as other putters, it seems to be harder (although not hard..just feels different). I like the feel of the cameron a lot but I really want a Gauge.... if the Gauge doesn't stay as square (it's either me or it's a balance thing for the club) then I might as well go Cameron..hard to go wrong...but if the Gauge is just as good, I'll do that. Again, not sure if any of that makes sense..
plus1
i dont agree with jt and saying that there is peer pressure, this site always promotes the idea that personal preference is the key! ESPECIALLY when it comes to a putter! as what i think looks and feels good will not be your preference also! I think JT, that there are some of us here that are over enthusiastic, but thats in a hoes nature! as for the gauge vs the scotty, i too was dubious when making my first order.....IMHO the scotty newport 2 is the nicest looking putter there is, the one comes close but newport 2 takes the prize! however it terms of feel, roll and performance the gauge IMO whoops ass! both the one and the newport two sit beautiful behind the ball....but when it comes to a putter you wont know till you have it in your hands!

Plus1, I dont think you understand his post, he is saying dont buy the one or the balde because now his scotty is in the garage collecting dust. See how he says " Once bitten you cant let go " and " hope your budget is ready" It sounds just like you after buying your first gauge putter.. :money: I had to read his post twice but now I understand it, Of Course IMO the Balde and One are the finest Ansers ever made. My BAD pal.....sorry!

I'm out there working harder than ever, just so I can fill my bag full of Gauge gear. Once our bags are all full of Gauge, do you think Chris will start selling patches so we can beak our addiction to Gauge?  Good old plus 1 can't help himself, and I've already earmarked the end of year bonus to be spent in this area, but hey what else is there in life except golf, golf and more golf. Very important to be happy with your equipment. Bring it on

Dicksy
Personally, I've looked at most of the Scotty range over the years. I love the idea of a sight line but hate the size and shape of the Newport 2.... Until, that is I had a look at plus1's Blade. It is like a smaller chunkier version of the Newport 2 and looks absolutely class...... temptation coming my way again..... However, its going to be hard to break my fixation with Scotty's.... acrazygolfer
I've got all 4 leaning against the wall (Tour Newport, One, Balde, & Zero). I've got to agree with Plus1 that both the One and the Balde are awesome, both in feel and look.
Dicksy
starting to go green with envy. Although at the minute in Ireland you could nearly putt with a driver, the greens are so bad. :tsg_smilie_wah:

Polymer
I DEFINITELY agree with this. Roll is fantastic. I wouldn't say it's any better than Yes or AGSI but the feel is FAR FAR better. Feels soft but very solid. Shape wise, it's pretty much ideal for an Anser style (IMO). Feel wise I'm not sure if I want anything any different. Roll wise it's as good or better than anything out there. The only things I'd add/change to it to make it even better are: I'd rather it be SS. I think SS is easier to take care of. I'm always really worried that I'll forget to clean it and it'll rust or something like that. I take care of my equipment but I don't like having to be anal about it. I'd love to have tungsten inserts for added forgiveness....I don't really notice any issues right now but I can't see how this would do anything but make it better. They have actually made prototypes of this putter in SS303 with and without ingots as well as the Forged version with ingots. SS303 killed the soft feel you guys love so much, I hit it and its a crisp completely different sensation. Personally I prefered the forged steel over the SS for this putter. The ingots in the forged version added 20 grams to the head weight putting it just below 370 so it wasn't ideal for play. Good putters play 340-350 grams. guys with super slow greens and a not as refined stroke will benefit from the 370g range.
Polymer
Well, I'm actually ok with the SS303 type of feel. Yeah, I don't necessarily want a heavier head, wouldn't mind a slightly thinner top line (or maybe cavity it out a bit) and adding the weight via ingots. Of course, I'm purely speculating..it might be horrible..haha. No complaints about "The One" though. From a performance standpoint it's pretty much what I'm looking for.. Dicksy
I think I just prefer a heavier putter as it helps me take the putter away more slowly. this gives me a better follow through and strike. Takes the jerk out of the long putt too. As for "The One" that plus1 has in his bag......... very nice..... :tsg_smilie_cool:

Polymer
Did you ever design your crafting edition? I have a crafting one and I really like the look of it. I'm considering adding something to the sole though....I guess it depends on how long it stays in the bag. Probably awhile....Thought about putting my name on it but then it's pretty much never going anywhere right? I hate to say it but a much as I like something now, that can easily change...
