Graphite Design Tour AD Type 2

Its supposedly a more user friendly version of the original.

Check out the specs:

SR 72.0g 2.4deg

S 73.0g 2.4deg

X 75.0g 2.4deg

The original was slightly heavier with less torque at 1.9. GD claims this version was built to react best with large heads.

I have been playing the first generation I65 in my R7TP and love it. Doesn't seem to get much pub here, but it has worked very well for me. Thinking about trying the I65/II in a Srixon 505... what do think think Chris?

It sounds like a killer! I dont know if they offer the I65 type 2 yet, I will find out for sure this weekend. The shaft was just released so I havent heard any reviews on it.

you don't hear much about this shaft in the states but it's the most expensive gd either as shaft only or as a shaft upgrade in japan. want to try one but too much :money:

MCSub,

Will you provide any feedback on the I65? Is it made for hitters or swingers? Does it have a super low ballflight? How does it feel?

I just bought a pull-out from my clubmaker for cheap but not sure what to put it in. I currently play a 10* driver so I may try the I65 in a 12* and see what happens - figure higher loft to cut sidespin and the shaft will help flatten the flight a bit. Thanks.

Well, I tend to have a smooth, building swing, but can also get torquey and fast and still be very effective. Translated, I don't overpower this shaft and get duck hooks when I am too fast, but get good results no matter how I swing. And I like that. For most of the round I can stay within myself, but after lipping a few putts I can open it up a bit and not fear the club not keeping up. Mine is a stiff flex, although I have my R7TP weighted up a bit so I have soffened it slightly. No problems getting the ball up, but mine is attched to a 10.5 degree face. Very solid feeling; when I put a decent swing the shaft does the rest. I am interested to try the Type II, but I can attest to the first offering being outstanding.
