+TourSpecGolfer
Fujikura's Rombax line released last march has been steadily growing popularity over 2005. Taylormade plans a version to go into its new 425 and 460cc drivers. I just recently received a demo 5 Iron Srixon I-505 with the Rombax 9E05 shaft installed, I must say I was impressed with the performance and stability of this graphite iron shaft. 91g 2.7 torque, It is probably the best graphite shaft I have tried to date. I have tried the GD AD-75 but not the heavier version so I really cant say I have had anything to compare it to in the same weight catagory ( 90+ gram range ) The rombax wood shaft the 7V05 *70g 3.6tq was a good and stable shaft as well but didn't give me any extra added yards. It did feel very tight while giving off a rather smooth and effortless kick. I just expected more distance from a new design shaft of this caliber. There is a new fuji just released the 6V05 it is the same rombax technology but in a *60g 3.8tq model which has caught my eye, especially in TOUR SPEC, this brings me to think the line will be expanded with perhaps an 80 or even a 90gram version of this very same shaft. Kudos to Fuji on this new addition to the rombax line, we look forward to several more with heavier specs for our fairway woods

tour-md
I have a Ping G5 8.5 with head weighted and shaft installed by Joe Kwok to play at D3. The Fuji Rombax (x-flex) is much more forgiving than the 757 in my opinion and has a tight dispersion. The former may be the result of a high tip torque but I'm not sure. Great shaft -- pricey too :) t-md

scraper
similar weight and torque to diamana 63. Is shaft designed to compete directly with the diamana?
tour-md
similar weight and torque to diamana 63. Is shaft designed to compete directly with the diamana? Two completely different shafts, however. The Diamana 63 feels like a more forgiving shaft compared to the Rombax and its feel is much softer in relation to stated flex. Ballflight is also flatter for me than the Diamana 63 which tends to just get the ball up.
