My guess was XXIO was going to shut down due to no new releases since 2004, and now I see this...

What I learned today is XXIO only puts out new clubs once every 2 years!

There will be new irons, fairway woods, drivers, wedges and putters. Here are first pics of the new driver there will be 2 versions the 432cc and 460cc spec.

I love the pearly shape but the face of the W-505 is just better to my eyes. Will they be coming to the US or again limited to the Asian market and when?

 I love the classic look of the crown at address. The Japanese companies simply do this much much better

yeeeeeeoooooo thats mad....if its illegal im up for one......technically it aint illegal for me in ire , so im gonna use all the help i can!

This club will not be out until april 2006. The 432 version is conforming while the 460 is high C.O.R. This I must try. I just hope I can find one with not too closed of a face.

  Chris this may be a really silly question, however why do the high end manufacturers persist with closed faces, when the high end consumer, in most cases, want them dead square?

PS This is a great looking club, it would be a real pity if they all had closed faces.

Many high end consumers are rich old dudes with $$$ to be spent! LOL. I was at the clubfitter when this old business guy walked in with a brand new $1K+ Homma driver and wanted it re-shaft to a senior flex! He told me that he's unhappy with 200 yards drive with a fade .... on a good day ...

XXIO is for slower swingers while Srixon is for the better player. That being said, I will still get me the XXIO and perhaps ask joe if he can adjust the face angle to .5 closed.

I think I can also special orders these square but dont quote me on that. Srixon allows me that option.

Chris good to know the square option may exist.

XXIO is for higher handicappers - all their clubs are noticeably designed to that effect - whereas Srixon is geared towards the lower handicapper. If there's perhaps a similar structure in the US it could be Titleist/Cobra. This new XXIO driver is offered with a lowest loft of 9.5 which is 2.5 closed! No way I could hit that thing straight.

 Pity, personally I think it is a good looking head, but Phil hits a draw to start with. Left of left just about sums it up!

Hey Chris,

I know that this Driver is still a long time off, but has there been any word as to whether we can order it with a custom face angle? Thanks!

I'm ready to :tsg_smilie_money3:

They will release 2 models: conforming and non-coforming. The conforming spec has a 432 cm3 headsize compared to the 460 cm3 of the non-conforming model. Both models with come standard with the mp400 carbon shaft. I gave the 460 a try last night...the distinctive 'ping' sound which was made famous by its predecessors was louder than ever! However, I am still waiting for the chance to field test it.

Nice looking but I think the PRGR is better looking, and I would be way way to far left with this baby.

2.5* closed. That thing would be like a boomerang comin right back at me!

Great lookin club though.

I had the chance to hit one of these today, they are closed face but not what we picture. the 11* only looked about 1.5* closed and the lower lofts only .5-.1 degrees closed. If you have a problem with slicing the ball this driver could be a good fit.
