FairwayFred
I have to share these pics with you guys. This is a new set that we made special for JHR he wanted the Satin Black finish with nothing except our SCRATCH script stamped on the muscle 38" 5 iron, Standard lie, D4 through the whole set w/ no lead, S300s, Tour Velvets, Titleist 681 shape and sole grind. We had to special order the heads from Ishihara with that stamping on them instead of our normal S stamp. They turned out amazing. One of the major perks of ordering Scratch golf clubs is you can get exactly what you want in every respect. Why settle when you dont have to!? :tsg_smilie_cool: Edited February 12, 2006 by TourSpecGirl
+TourSpecGolfer
Holy Smokes! The shape is unreal and I bet they feel very soft at impact as does most of your product. I suggest you order more of those heads with that stamping. Do you have any extra wedge heads like that sitting around? If so lets do me 2 wedges in that picker grind you mentioned to me. same finish silver paintfill.
Alcap26
Ari these are great looking. At first I did not like the new Script but it is growing on me fast. Great job! :tsg_smilie_cool:
AKFLY
Very sweet looking - love the finish. I think I would pass on the script and opt for the S stamp. Is the finish available for wedges ?
shoe295
I really do like the shape ..not so sure about the script but they are very very attractive

Olly123
i love most scratch clubs and these just look awesome, i would personally prefer the S stamp purely because i love it on my wedges. Which btw are awesome Ari and i thank you again for them. But these irons do look really nice... keep up the great work at scratch!!! BigEasy
Ari, can you refinish AND regroove my Scratch wedges? I want some more aggressive grooves for more spin. How long does it take to have them refinished?

sfgolfer
Ari - This is why I'm a customer! Fantastic.
HipCheck
I agree those look fantastic shapewise and finishwise. Really sharp. I would lose the script though. I'd try to develop my own font design, like a Gauge or Titleist which has its own look. That font is too common. Sorry I'm opinionated on it. I work in design and marketing. dorkman53
Ari; How durable is the black finish? Does it quickly wear off to raw, then rust? If so, that may be fine for wedges, but I'm not sure many people are going to want to have their > $1200 set of irons rusting. I hope the finish is durable; it certainly is attractive. Price on these is the same $1250 as any of our custom irons. As for wear the finish is like any other high quality Black Oxide finish. (see custom Mizuno black etc) If you take excellent care of it, oiling the heads after play and practice it will last very well. If you just "let it go" it will wear and rust with use. This is our Tour Blade model just with a different stamping. Ari, can you refinish AND regroove my Scratch wedges? I want some more aggressive grooves for more spin. How long does it take to have them refinished? We can do that send me an email at [email protected] and we can work out the details. ARI, can you have y cutters on your wedges...what grooves are on the wedges We are now milling grooves around the first of the year we will be introducing our propriatary JLM groove which will be very close to the TM Y groove. It is designed to offer MAXIMUM spin with minimum chewing of your golf ball.

The Script is a special order only option on the custom clubs. The S logo is still our standard. That script font is actually something that we invented here at Scratch the "S" and "cratch" are a different font that makes up the logo. I appreciated everyones opinion on everything so keep em coming!
swing981
Ari, 2 questions....will you offer a hybrid...and will the prototype jlm wedge you now have offer the groove similiar to the y cutters...also will the wedge say prototype on it....thanks

(Although that could always change) The prototype JLM wedges have our standard box groove in it. This groove is simular in design to the TM Y groove in that it is wider and deeper than a normal groove but it does not have sharp edges. Like the Y groove it is designed to maximize spin without chewing your golf ball. The wedges do not have prototype stamped on them right now but if you would like to order one we can stamp PROTOTYPE on it for you.
sly_sam
Those black forged blades look lovely. Truely a work of art. I must tell my freind about these, as he's been looking for a black forged blade as his next set. Since there is little technology involved in a forged blade, most of them (from different companies) play pretty similar and feel pretty consistant. Scratch, most likely being no exception. I'll let him know and maybe he'll look into it.

Make sure you mention to him our clubs WILL feel softer and better than other blades out there because we use 1018 carbon steel the softest forged steel out there. (compared to 1025-1045 that most other companies use)

We can also do any specs that he wants. The clubs arent ground untill we get his specs.
